I've seen him like 5 times before but he hasn't toured in forever and isn't coming near Phoenix this year. I managed to get tickets to the show in Brooklyn on October 1. I'll be all over the city and up into westchester over the course of the weekend if anybody wants to maybe link up for a meal or some beverages.
This making of video for one of my favorites of his albums shows how incredibly talented he is. I attached a photo of when my brother and I met him while we were on holy ship 2015
I'm kind of a snob when it comes to music and especially electronic music and I saw him perform at a smaller festival summer of 09. I really hated the whole dubstep scene but my friends made me go check him out and I was being a huge hater, until he dropped a remix of the JJ Cale version of After Midnight and I was like "ok I respect this dude, he knows his shit" lol
I've never cared for dubstep. Most of the worst incarnations of it sound like recordings of transformers having sex. It would be hard for me to be an electronic music snob because my favorite genre is one of the more commonly dumped on genres out there. I go bananas for happy hardcore / uk hardcore. Know what I really miss? Speed garage. That was the genre that got the wobble right before dubstep ruined it.

Took me this long to see this lol I never remember to click "follow post"
I'm really big into acid house, idm/braindance, breakcore, all kinds of jungle, but really love ragga jungle and ragga breakcore, juke/footwork as well. There's a decent techno scene where I live and a lot of the younger kids are really into hardstyle. There's also a really good punk and hardcore scene in my city. I used to run sound at a grimy dive bar where all the punk hardcore and metal (of all sun genres) would play. Covid kinda fucked a lot of stuff up for awhile, but it's a great city for music.
Much love
