You could mount it to a lazy Susan or swivel plate and attach that to the side of your pit but would depend on how much the main actuator weighs, rig it with a stop on one side and it could just swing off to one side, and be parallel with the edge of the pit, remove your stop and swing it out for easy access and maintenance.
