Wam and playing in the mess is something, that I believe, everyone here enjoys. But is it something that can be considered a full-on hobby?

While I might be asking the question "Is it okay for a grown-up to admit to enjoying having fun in the mud like a child would?", I wanted to ask a bigger question than that. As we would all know, the type of activity that we enjoy is deeply related to a sexual activity, one way or the other. And it becomes something that's even more difficult to admit to other people. So the question becomes "Is it okay to call a hobby something that is quite erotic?". Even when we are thinking to ourselves, could it be an actual hobby in the same way as sports, arts would be? It feels like something that is largely in a gray area for me.

So yes, in fact any type of sex could be a hobby by the strictest definition I guess. I just wouldn't put it on my CV/resume (and I'm a sex therapist!).

If it's something that you enjoy doing, then I don't see why you can't call it a hobby.

i'd say yes, this is a bit of a hobby, but who i might share that with depends on the audience.

I hope my parents NEVER find out about this particular hobby of mine.

Of course, we've got the mud crowd, the mess crowd, the water/oil crowd, and everyone else that is interested in more than one genre.

There is a tiny group that has paid considerable $$ on realistic sex dolls to dress up in clothes, get them soaking wet, and then have sex with them. Total weirdos, i say!

Getting serious again, there are the public events like "mud runs" or water baptisms, or pie-in-the-face events, to whom the regular people don't quite regard them in the same way as us, but then i imagine there is a tiny group that don't realize they are not alone to be so drawn into this activity that is just incidental to the remaining 99.9%??? At least until they happen across THIS (or other) wam related websites, and then, like ALL of us, it's a real OMG moment... there are OTHER people like me?

In the last year, * wetlook * (the main hobby subgroup that i follow) has decreased significantly for the excitement of getting into the water that it previously had. I'm not sure why this is? Maybe because i am getting older? Maybe because i have thoroughly "scratched that itch" and it has become old? I remember sitting next to a park working on some college homework and having a near deafening whisper SCREAMING at me: get in the water, get in the water, GET IN THE WATER! GET IN THE WATER!

and being terrified - how can i do this, and NOT get caught? Is it clear for me to jump in now? The small park amusement train passes right by every 10 minutes, it's about 5 minutes now, and i don't see anyone in sight... okay... INTO THE WATER NOW! oh boy, THAT WAS AWESOME!

i hear the amusement train approaching now... i see some pedestrians walking this way... they probably don't see the water dripping off of my clothes from the walking path... and now, i don't see anyone in sight, and the last train passed by about 5 minutes ago... (i think you get the picture...)
