Vivi takes part in our new series where she gets pied with a series of very nasty pies. Each pie is filled with either tuna, cat food, dog food, sardines, anchovies, eggs, or pickle relish, and then each is topped with mayo and cottage cheese. Vivi gets pied in the face with each pie, and then guess what the nasty filling is from taste alone. Vivi takes each pie tremendously, mouth wide open, taking a gigantic gag worth mouthful of each pie before guessing. After the pieings are complete, and Vivi guesses them all correctly, she earns a reward! Which is a lot of green.... slime that is. Vivi then takes several rounds of our famous nasty green slime made out of relish, mustard, mayo, refried beans, cottage cheese, apple sauce, ranch, blue cheese, cream of mushroom, and split pea soup! No one knows how to take a WAMming quite like Vivi, and her vibrant expressions shine through even under many layers of nasty mess. In my humble opinion, this is messy humiliation at its finest.

Vivi takes them well, as usual, but as a big pie fan, I just don't have any desire to see a model take legitimately gross pies. Give me solid coverage with good ol' whipped cream, pudding, chocolate, frosting.... anything that tastes good, really!
But I know WAM is a big ol' tent now and there's room for lots of niches! The "disgusting slime" trend is certainly a thing now, maybe "disgusting pies" will catch on.
(When Vivi comes back to SS we're gonna give her only yummy pies & cakes, so she can have a break.... )

My taste is similar to yours, Rich
I simply cannot enjoy the images of even such a beautiful and fun model like Vivi because of the implicit sadism which seems to be involved when using those type of "gross pies" (or slime).

To each his (or her) own, of course.
I guess it just comes down to how much of it is "acting." Sometimes based on the scene or what the director is going for, they act disgusted. In many cases sadly, the models simply aren't into WaM anyway, so it could be disgusting. Having said that, I'm sure this takes it to a whole new level!
Of course, the model clearly doesn't find it too gross OTHERWISE SHE WOULDN'T BE PARTICIPATING. Grant it, you do what you have to for money I guess, but still
I suppose just having to think about it like that or question it really takes the "fun" out of it for those like us who appreciate Wet and Messy stuff for the "playful" aspect.

Well, it's a single cell phone video, set up on a tripod in her bathroom. You're not gonna get multiple angles or editing using this approach.
There's definitely a dividing line now between the old-school producers who grew up on mainstream scenes, where our stuff is longer and scripted and shot to look like an actual show or comedy skit with multiple angles and camera moves. (Think the early MessyFun and the Moonins' work and go from there.)
The newer producers, like SlimedModels, are coming from a YouTube world where the clips are quick and short and designed to be watched on your mobile device. These are the kind of scenes that play well on TikTok or Instagram, where the single-angle "selfie" shot is king.
The split between models "acting" disgusted.... vs. being legitimately disgusted by legitimately gross substances.... might also be generational. I'm not sure. But there's definitely a feeling of "YouTube Challenge" to the gross-out element of this.

I think the split is more between models "being told exactly what to do by the producer (often times during the scene) and being completely unnatural at it because the producer hasn't explained to them that this is a fetish or what the fetish exactly is and why it turns them on, so the model's performance isn't natural at all and it just feels dumb and that makes ME feel dumb for liking this" --VS-- "models being legitimately disgusted"
If there was more content made where the model was "acting" disgusted or humiliated and doing it in a natural way (because they understand the material...because it's been explained to them), then there wouldn't be as much interest in models being legitimately disgusted.
This isn't directed at anyone specific, but producer's will often mention how one model or another "gets it", and I just for the life of me can't understand how EVERY model you work with doesn't "get it", because like, it's YOUR job as a producer to explain it to them. That is part of the job of making something. Just like turning on the camera and picking the angles and writing the script.
And the models WANT to "get it". This is a job for them, and the producers are their bosses, and they're paying them to do something for them, but yet often times not explaining to them what it is that they actually want them to do.
Like a big reason @The Man And The Wife has so much success with their videos, is because the talent involved has a full understanding of what they're trying to accomplish. They understand that this is a fetish and understand what elements of it turn ppl on. That isn't because The Wife and her friends magically figured that out or spent years studying sexual fetishes and human psychology. It's because The Man has this fetish, and he explained to them why he wants to make the things that they all make together.
I actually am one of those old school people who wants content that's produced well and looks and feels like a TV show (because that's my original influence with this kink), but there aren't enough camera angles or clever scripts in the world to make up for a bad performance. Or more specific, an unnatural, unmotivated, unaware performance.
And as someone who has now worked with a wide range of "talent", I am extremely confident when I say that 99.9% of the time a bad performance comes from bad direction (directing and producing, or a lack thereof). And that is entirely due to the producer not explaining things to the performer (reacting naturally to a pie in the face or a load of slime being dumped on you is not difficult, even for the most dull or dumb performer).
I totally get that a lot of ppl have shame about this silly innocent little fetish for one reason or another, but if you're going to step into producing content, I think you should have the courage to own your fetish enough to explain to the person you're hiring (for a fetish video btw) exactly what it is that you're wanting them to do AND why... Perhaps that's a generational thing though?
Anyways, back to the original point; for most of us, we don't need to know that it was gross. We can pretend. ...As long as they can pretend. But they can't do that if they aren't told how they should be pretending, and more importantly, WHY.

I get the feeling they don't want to get too into details out of fear of scaring them off. Obviously, they should and need to disclose what they are doing this for, not just so they can act better for the scene but because I'm pretty sure its' required by law of some kind.
I know recently there was an issue with a producer being discussed. There also use to be videos of a college guy that managed to get girls to do pie/icing stuff (rather well!) and a comment was screaming to girls not to do it because its' a fetish and he's a sick pervert. I don't know the whole story, but as a lonely guy dreaming of innocent fun that I happen to fantasize over, that one hit me pretty hard and I want to feel bad for the dude.
Then again, there are some WaM fans that don't find it sexual or a fetish and just share on here. Ironically, some of their stuff can't be referenced since its' often based around younger stuff (kids shows/activities). I get the implications, but I guess littles and other fetishes revolve around acting like a kid again, likely experiencing past memories or fantasies that have become so ingrained to their emotions and sensuality that they have become fetishes much like WaM!
Anyway, being a professional model means acting a certain way based on what you are modeling while trying to seem as natural yet close to specific instructions as possible. I think that's why certain people prefer not to be called modes since they actually enjoy the experience and to be modeling it implies forced fakeness.
Also, as you said so well, it can bring down the immersion and overall quality of the product. Does it ruin it? Not necessarily, but the more believable something is the better it is and this the more recognition it will receive, leading ultimately to more sales and hopefully more of the same!
but what do I know? Lol no, but seriously: what do I know? Does any of that sound right? Or am I out in left field here trying to figure out Who is on first? also, PLEASE tell me somebody got that and I'm not making dad jokes without having done anything that would produce a child yet! :,(

You know I love you Kelsey, but some "Talent" is untalented. I haven't even made that many videos, but I can tell you even some enthusiastic models are garbage actors. Not usually a problem in my stuff, but it has happened more than once. There is a difference between Marlon Brando and Tommy Wiseau.
I can say this, confidently, because I'm an amazing director, as everybody knows.
