So think this pie fight which I think advertises fuckin fridges or some shite gets occasionally mentioned here now and again so thought it'd be worth mentioning there's a new slightly better looking version that's been found in comparison to the older YouTube upload.
Wish it was a different edit cos it's still a bit fuckin shambolic but I dig the scene nonetheless. It's got decent set up and hits so nee too many complaints from meself.
Excellent find. I believe the dark haired woman with the cigarette holder also played Mrs. TV in the Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka. Thanks for sharing.
Isn't that the end of a British theatrical movie? I recognize some of the people as well-known British comic actors of the 1960s. Bernard Fox is the guy with the mustache, Im pretty sure. I have a mp4 version with deeper colors titled "British Pie Fight." I've attached a screen grab with Fox. I suspect if I was a Brit of that period, I'd recognize all the actors.
I dl'd the file in June of 2013. You might check the messages here from around then if there still available.

Unsure about the film front, if I recall correctly people have mentioned it being an advert since commercials back then were unusually long. My knowledge of me home nations comedy scene from that period is lacking (if I were 40 years older I'd be more familiar I'd imagine)
Anyhow the deeper colour (but in me opinion shiter quality) version is still on YouTube. I've linked it below here. Any other footage or pics I'm unsure about like.
Definitely one of those pie fights that is equal parts good and bad. The pies were great, coverage good, and the setups and throws on target were excellent. But there wasn't a single attractive woman in the bunch.
I am reminded of an old girlfriend who did not appreciate the fetish at all, and even stated that the only thing she remembered from seeing pie fights on tv was seeing "ugly, old ladies" getting hit. (Her words, not mine.)
So I can appreciate this scene from a slapstick standpoint, but not from a fetish standpoint.
I always thought the short-haired blonde was decent (tho you never see a proper hit, just aftermath) and the short-haired brunette is fine as far as "women willing to get hit with pies on TV" goes. At least the brunette gets nicely clobbered.
I recognized Bryan O'Byrne as the clumsy waiter, and Reta Shaw as the woman who continues eating while the pies are flying. (I think between them they guested on every TV series in the 70s.)
