First off, welcome to the UMD. It seems like in this era of OnlyFans/Many Vids/etc. a lot of models have been begun exploring this fetish, and it's nice that you're taking the step of asking what people like about it. A lot of the content I've seen lately from "mainstream" producers/models has been...lacking, so this is a welcomed change.

Now, I myself am not a producer, so I can't give you any guidance on the financials of producing WAM fetish videos or what niche gives the best returns, but as a lifelong fan of the genre(?) and someone who's been coming to this forum since 2001, I feel like I've seen enough to give some general advice, or if nothing else what I'd like to see more of in videos from "outsider" producers:

1) First and foremost, above all else, the mess matters. While there is no single kind of WAM content that ticks everybody's boxes, one thing that's true of everybody into this fetish is that we care about the quality, quantity and application of the mess. Nothing makes my heart sink more than seeing an attractive model post "WAM" content that's just drizzling Hershey's syrup on her chest and giggling for a few minutes.

2) I think WAM is unusual among fetishes in terms of how aesthetically focused it is. The texture and color of a bucket of slime. The sound of a cream pie splattering against its target. The appearance of long hair saturated with thick mess. So many of my favorite videos over the years could honestly be condensed down to just a few moments, those brief "perfect shots" where the mess, model and reaction form a beautiful composition.

3) Speaking of reactions, they matter. A lot. Almost as much as the mess, maybe more in some cases. Again, there is no universally beloved tone that gets everybody off, but everybody wants to see the model react. Some people like "fun" WAM with laughs and smiles, some people like comedy with a heavy emphasis on slapstick, some people (such as myself) like the domination/humiliation aspect and enjoy seeing a model squirm and express disgust. Whatever route you go, it really benefits you to lean in, understand the tone you're trying to set and not break from it.

I don't know how helpful any of this realistically is, but if nothing else I'm hoping I got across how much this fetish is about aesthetics and psychology, rather than just bare flesh and sex. WAM isn't just mainstream porn with Reddi-wip and cake frosting.

First thing to be aware of is that if you ask 12 wammers for the ideal way to get messy you'll get 13 answers amost all of which are completely incompatible with each other. So the most important thing is to do things you think you'll actively enjoy. It's a fair bit of work to set up a WAM scene and even more work to clean up afterwards, so if you're going to go to all that effort, you might as well maximise the fun during the actual scene. And to my mind at least WAM should be fun.

Things that quite a few people do like are slapstick-movie-style custard pies in the face (thrown or smnushed), sitting on sloppy cakes, or buckets of gunge or vanilla sauce poured over someone from above.

Things to be aware of - once there is gunge everywhere surfaces become incredibly slippery, expect people to lose their footing and fall over, especially if they've not played in mess before, and take steps to avoid anything with hard, sharp edges (like a table corner) anywhere anyone could hit their head. Also some things can really sting if they get in your eyes, syrups and treacles are bad for that.

And when cleaning up, if you've covered someone in molasses, syrup, or treacle, make sure they do not scrub! They are basically sugar so just put the warm water on and stand still and let it all melt away. Some years back a non-WAM photographer did a scene with a model in treacle. Afterwards she tried to scrub it off and took some of her skin off in the process. Just let the flowing water melt it, it will slowly disolve and melt away to nothing.

I would echo what DM-1 said but would go beyond him on one point.

The type of WAM you produce should go beyond what you just enjoy. It should be what turns you on. Makes you passionate. Makes you horny.

One thing to consider is how a lot of us got into WAM in the beginning, a common answer to that conundrum is kids TV, this is why gameshows are popular, being punished for losing is definitely a common theme.

How you act in the scenes is another important factor, so whether you are shocked, disgusted, loving it...etc...everyone has a different preference there...

From a production perspective, it's important to have your camera set up to have you centered in the scene, and not miles away or missing half your body.

Second to this is lighting. The worst I've seen is a window or light behind the model, which makes her look dark and grainy. A basic floor lamp near the camera (slightly behind it) will work wonders towards having a well-lit, in focus, professional-looking video - even if it was shot on a phone.

Aside from that, I've always been a fan of full-body wam, not just the head, as some of the pie fans like. Getting all messy and delighting in it is a beautiful thing to behold.

Everyone has their own super specific tastes so the best thing to do is shoot something YOU like and enjoy, and if you do it well, you'll find an audience.

Also, anonymity is gonna be tricky. Facial mess is a HUGE component of WAM, along with seeing the clean, spotless, made-up face beforehand. I entirely understand why you'd crop out faces for your models' safety, but that's invariably gonna shrink your audience by a lot.
