There is a HUGE amount of content from in here out there... that website is pretty bad, but by far not the worst. I know of quite a lot of full UMD content out there, but quite a lot is hidden as it's not under a keyword with regards to messy/wet, so it's difficult to find.
I have a list of people in here who pirate stuff (yes you donkeys, there is a way to find out who you are), and some of them are stupid enough to use the same name out there and they do in here.
We looked into a system where a specific download number was shown on the video once in every 25 frames. If you ran the clip through a frame by frame software editor, you could retrieve the number. But then, you have to 'burn' each sold video individually with a number and track who you sold it to.
And even then.... what are you going to do about it? Highly doubt that would stand up in court.
Live with it or bail. You will NEVER stop it
That is freaking genious, i love it, and the dedication. my logical mind while reading this thread was also thinking of ways to stop this from happening when i remembered a time when i experimented with a vpn. While it was active i couldnt access some websites which is why i ended up scrapping it. I was wondering, if the umd used a simillar feature, and you knew who the members were, could they not be banned permenantly? Im by far not a tech wiz so i dont know if this is even possible anymore with a modern vpn system but i hope the big brains can one day work something out. It seems like a lot to do to weed out a few bad apples but as we have seen, just one bad apple has massive effect.
Sorry to see you go. I am glad you are sticking to your guns. I do hope though that there is a thread in the store owners area comparing purchased pirated content to see if any screen names show up similar.
The list I have has taken a long time to get together. There is nothing anyone can do with it except request takedowns. MM might ban them, but I am not getting into that tit for tat fight.
The software idea worked great actually. What I basically did as a trial was adding a layer in my editing software that put a reference number on the screen every 25 frames (over the finished, edited movie). Then I complied the film/movie.
That worked well. You didn't see the number, yet it is there and to remove it, you would have to edit the clip down into 1 second sections and delete that frame. You could even put the name of the person who purchased it.
BUT... you would have to make a copy for every sale and that would be tedious.
So the better option was to make your movie, and then post-process it with a dedicated editor that overlays the information. This worked far better, but I had to write the code myself.
This auto-incremented a specific reference number or text and only took a minute per 30 minute movie clip. Plus, you could leave it running for a day and make a 'batch' of coded clips ready for sale.
You could then store those references in an Excel spreadsheet.
BUT... you still have to engineer a method of issuing individual download clips to each point of sale (rather than a simple download link). That however, is also still possible with some clever thinking.

Yep. This is in the performers' intro package for everyone who works for me. One of the reasons I perform in one of my own videos is to show I'm not asking anyone to do something I wouldn't.
And the original "Plasma Pies" has been pirated so many times I've given up. At least it's always the old SD version and not the HD version I offer for sale now.
