Quality stuff. Praise the Lord Cameron Crowe no longer does "realism".... Because in 20 years of interacting with bands I have yet to see a single female roadie, much less one super young and super hot....
I didn't think anything could make me forgive Cameron Crowe for Aloha and Elizabethtown, but this looks like it'll do it.
Aloha was one stinky movie. I couldn't believe it was Crowe that directed. I didn't mind Elizabethtown, though. I'm a sucker for Kirsten Dunst's boobs.
That looks like a great hit, and Poots is sexy as hell. Looking forward to seeing more of the scene.

What was the Uma Thurman movie with some female pies in the trailer? Prime? And they cut them all out except for one?
Not really, there wasn't any trailer with pieings (at least no more than the pieing scene we all saw in the movie). What I remember about that topic is a guy who posted in this forum that he saw the movie early or something and there were a lot of female pieings, Uma and Meryll included. But no doubt he was a troll. PS... I even check the trailers in youtube some minutes ago.
That said, there ARE instances of scenes in trailers cut out of the actual movie. I doubt they do that in a full-blown TV series though. Again, the issue would be a super quick cut immediately after the pieing with no aftermath. THAT would kinda suck.
[And yes, there was a lot more of that kind of trolling back before things were easily checked. Do any old-school Pie Mafia fans remember the guy who SWORE he was at a taping of the horrible show "Reba" and told of a full-blown cast pie fight? And Hurley, the main guy, absolutely vouched for him... So we all diligently kept up with every single episode of that terrible show for the entire season? Spoiler... Not a single pie, ever.]
Yeah, slapstick gags in trailers frequently get cut out of the final screening version...maybe not with this one as they would have to cut the whole scene or else (if just the pie gag gets cut) show Poots with pie on her face (mysteriously).
AND the trailer uses one of my all-time favorite songs -- Big Hard Sun -- this version (done decently) by Eddy Vedder (original version: India)...not sure if that's a good thing...hopefully it's an art house flik so not too many will see it and then buy the mp3 and then earn it high ratings on itunes or something and cause even more people to buy it...some songs ya just got to be selfish about...

I remember that, I sat through so many horrible episodes just waiting for that scene.
On a side note anyone remember the trailer for the Sweetest Thing? There's a quick clip of a cake fight between Cameron Diaz and Selma Blair, but it's cut out of the actual movie. It's not even on the DVD extras.
MTV had an awful reality show about a sorority about 15 years ago, and I can remember the promos showing a pretty good pie throwing event. Watched way too many episodes assuming there was no way MTV would cut out pie throwing from such a dull show. I was wrong.

Oh crap, I DO remember that. Yeah, they showed nothing!!
So an example of the opposite happening: It might've been the Pie Mafia again, or maybe later (the UMD?), but someone said they were at a taping of The Price Is Right, shortly after Drew Carey took over as host, and said all the models had gotten pied. Of course, this sounded like the biggest troll, and we'd been burned before, so I don't think anyone even bothered to start watching TPIR just to be safe. (Plus, you know... Tons of episodes.) Lo and behold, the scene DID happen... as we all know by now. And got recorded (by several folks) very well for posterity. Who knew?

Well, the song was already prominently featured in the movie Into The Wild and on the soundtrack. (There might've been a video?) And Cameron Crowe released the first pressing on his Vinyl Films label, so I'm sure that's how he knows the Eddie Vedder version.
I doubt a limited-run series on Showtime is gonna give it more attention than an Oscar-nominated film already did. You should be safe.

Yeah man! that was probably my first dissapointment in terms of wam alerts in this forum! lol
I'd also remember the brief clip of Leslie Bibb gettin' mud over her head in a trailer from GCB and then the scene was much better and longer in the actual show. So... Im hopeful about this one.

I remember that too, except it didn't look like an event, more like a initiation. I'm just guessing, but I think they cut it because technically it would be considered hazing, which is against the rules.
I don't want to turn this into a disappointments thread, but the one I always remember is the food fight scene from Whip It! It starts really well, but then it jumps ahead to a shot where Drew Barrymore has already been pied and then it finishes really quickly after that.
Shame . . . if you go to the trouble of filming a food fight scene you'd think you'd try to fit as much in as possible. Guess some editors don't see it that way!

Either you've seen an edited clip from the movie or you're misremembering. The food fight scene is disappointingly brief but you do at least get to see a clean Drew Barrymore get a pie sandwich in it.
Another misleading ad was run for the made-for-TV movie "Happy Endings" in the eighties... at least by the time it became a "CBS Late Movie" presentation after the local news. The ads for it showed Catherine Hicks taking a pie in the face from John Schneider, but the version of the movie they used for late night showings was edited, and the pie scene didn't make it in. Fortunately, the pie scene had been shown when the movie was newly made and shown in prime time, and it has been preserved for us by diligent VHS owners.

Ugh. I remember that Sorority Show as well... I watched that show for no fucking reason.

You're kidding! That's terrible!
After the pie fight, the scene continues with John taking Catherine back to her apartment. They both still have the remnants of cream on them. They talk about what a great time they had, and they talk about getting together again. I would have thought that was a "plot mover" (or whatever the term is) and that they would have had to keep that part in.
What they won't do to squeeze a couple more commercials in!
Anyone remember that horrible movie, Date Movie? At the end credits they showed there was a deleted scene of Carmen Electra getting slimed. If you listen to the DVD commentary apparently, Alison Hannigan also got slimed for that scene but none of the footage is on the DVD.
