The substance that makes the 'tar' ...does it HAVE to be molasses? Or can it be something such as chocolate syrup? I'm curious if people are a stickler for the substance, or basically if any sticky dark mess + feathers is more than fine.
I'm not sure if chocolate syrup is thick enough. I'm almost thinking a dyed black marshmallow fluff (if that's even possible) but then I don't know if you could pour that without making it too hot

I've seen several scenes that really lacked good coverage or the girls were "afraid" to get their faces feathered? There are hypoallergenic feathers too. Plenty of options. The worst feathers I've seen are those BIG feathers. The coverage ends up being really poor and they fall off really easy.
IMO to be called "Tar & Feathers" the fake tar should be black, thick and sticky. Some producers such as MessyGirl use black grease and others such as Kaydens have created their own custom fake tar.
I would be concerned that chocolate syrup isn't thick enough to be called "tar" unless perhaps mixing in black tempera paint powder would provide the right consistency.
Having said all that, I certainly also like (and often purchase) scenes which use golden syrup or honey plus feathers. Such scenes should be called what they are and not called "tar & feathers".
I think grease is the closest thing to real tar. When I was tarred and feathered, my gunge partner used grease. The feathers he used on me were small, which allowed him to cover me beter than if he used large feathers.
I really like T&F scenes but, as others have already written, it has to be thick and sticky. Coverage with feathers is also important. To me, the model must has her upper part engulfed (including face and hair) and I don't really care if she's not covered head to toe. A second layer of tar and extra feathers over an already covered model would score extra points
The point is the embarrassment more than anything. The girl is already going to be be humiliated by the act (with her consent of course!) so she doesn't need to suffer more with the substance than she's already going to with the feathers. At least make it fun enough, give her some chocolate.
Plus that one scene from that MTV show where they tar and feather that Asian girl uses chocolate and it still makes me excited to see to this day. (Oh how easily I put myself in her place!)
I see a lot of comments about making sure the feathers are correct. Could anyone tell me more? Even an amazon link with these particular feathers would be helpful!
I personally prefer the thickness and stickiness of dark corn syrup to molasses. It also doesn't have the strong smell of molasses, and it's a bit cheaper, too.
Not black, of course, but still a solid choice for T&F.
- feather coverage > type of 'tar' (sorry idk about a link but the small, obnoxious, messy feathers > bigger ones) - humiliation/outrage and acting/plot dialogue is key (with consent, obvi and as stated) - bonus points for bound victim, humiliation extras (panties in mouth, humiliation finished with costume extras like chicken beak/fingers, eggs on head, and esp the 'humiliation selfie pics to send to friends')
I'm not particular about the feathers, but I'd definitely love for the "tar" to be akin to the black "grease" that producers such as Messygirl, WetandMessy, or Sexy Messy Babes are known for.

I've several producers about this b/c I've sponsored a scene or two in the past. Unfortunately the BEST advice I can give is hit up a store like Macy's, JCPenny, Kohl's, etc or a discount store that sells pillows if you have one around and some of the feather pillows can be unzipped to "refill" them if needed. Find one with smaller feathers. That's about it. I wish there was a link I could give to a bag of feathers or something but when I searched for the Jayce scene I sponsored I didn't find much online.
Fun Fact: There's been some research to suggest that we all don't have a WAM fetish, but rather, a texture fetish. Hence why the feathers "need to be right" in a scene.
In my profile pic, the tar is a mix of molasses and malt extract. The feathers are a mix of goose down & feathers. Two sacks of feathers to one of down. Agree anything sticky will work for the base. Also agree that you need to select the right feathers to do t&f well.

The idea being they are "harder" to clean up.

Indeed. The girl in my profile pic picked her own feathers, and she did a great job picking small ones.
