So to all producers, I have a question regarding models. I was talking with one (Has little modeling experience but wants to pursue a career in one) who is mutuals with my friend and as I was talking about the shoot she asked me "Why would I do this shoot? What would I get from doing this shoot?". She sounded professional and I was stumped when I heard it. I told her its a fun experience and you have to start somewhere. Has anyone else encountered anything similar and how did you manage to answer it?

Why? In order to get paid. What would I get? The model fee for doing the shoot, your expenses, snacks and drinks.
Never had anyone specifically ask those questions though because I'm always up front about everything. The conversation usually goes like this:
Hi, just wondering and hope you don't mind me asking, would you have any interest in doing some very silly fetish video work?
If they say No, then "fair enough and hope you didn't mind me asking."
if they say "Yes", or "Possibly", then either I arrange to contact them on-line to discuss details, or do a rough intro there and then, it'll all depend on location, ambient volume level, etc. Assuming it's quiet enough to talk, I'll say something like "Ok, it's fully clothed sploshing, you'll be dressing up in outfits that I provide - no risk to anything of your own - and either getting covered in various types of gunge (all-vegan options available if you want) or taking mud baths, wading into rivers and streams. Basically getting soaking wet and/or covered in stuff, usually with another model because it's more fun to play with someone else." If they're still interested after that we'll usually take it on-line where I can then send them more details, links to the sites, etc.
Main things I aim to do in talking to a potential model:
1. Make absolutely explicit that it's fetish work. Even though our mainline stuff is fully and completely clothed, make sure they understand that people will fap to the resulting images and video. Fully informed consent is absolutely everything.
2. Make clear that we provide all the outfits, and cover all expenses. Fetish models are used to having to provide their own outfits, esp latex and PVC gear, and will be very wary of anything that could damage their kit. Once they know they'll be wearing all stuff that we provide for them to mess up, any worry in that direction tends to melt away.
3. Make sure they understand the kind of quantities they'll be playing with. Not just a plateful of custard in the lap or a few pies in the face, but literally gallons of it, drenching them completely.
4. Explain the pay-rates and give them a realistic idea how much they'll take home from a weekend of filming.
Once those issues are known and undersood, and assuming the rates are in a range they're happy to work for, it tends to be plain sailing.
One important thing is to never give anyone any kind of grief if they say No. Women in general, not just models, are used to guys who chase and harass them to change their minds. Don't be that guy.
Nope. I've had some models politely decline and that's fine - I don't pursue it further or try to change their mind.
(Edit to add: I give all the same info as DM1 when initially approaching)
I prefer those who instantly think it sounds fun at the very least. Someone with the wrong attitude (for me anyway) like that who is either looking down their nose at it all, or trying to set the scene to ask for silly money, or who had to be convinced, is too much of a risk for the scene being bad/awkward as a result
That's an interesting question from her. I usually explain the concept of the shoot in so much detail--including how much they'll get paid--that they know by the end whether the concept is for them or not. They know they're in for a fun day, they know they're going to get paid well, they know that it's probably not the type of thing that they'll build their professional portfolio with, but it's still a fun paid day of shooting. From there, they can take it or leave it.
Actually, for the first time ever last week, I had a model cancel last minute after committing because she determined that my shoot was both too tame and not popular enough to further her porn career. That's fair, we all have our own hustles, but it shows how a professional model will answer that question on her own.
Regardless, I don't believe in hard selling someone into taking my money, whether it's a shoot or trying to reach someone to renovate my place. So if a prospective model knows what I'm about and still needs convincing, we're not a fit.
I don't think people I know have ever been asked those questions when booking models. I think the regular questions relate to pay, expenses, dates, times, other models likely to be there (apparently that's a big deal because they don't all get along!), parking, nearest stations, levels, substances (some can be a no-no), facilities... stuff like that. All the stuff you'd expect, I guess.
Thanks for the answers. I normally say the shoot is going to be a kink related one instead of fetish (I mean they technically are the same right?) since the word fetish is still sort of taboo here since majority of people are religious and dont really like using that. Im still having trouble finding models and the ones I do contact either decline later or dont reply but said they were interested
