I had a couple pics to share with you, and I needed your opinions.
The pies used with the girls in the green and grey shirts were uncooked meringue pies (thank you to the "They Wore Bagels at Night" video for giving me that idea). As you can see, the coverage was excellent. Unfortunately the camera work was not great, resulting in slightly disppointing shots (from my perspective).
Unfortunately, the place I got my pies from decided to stop selling me uncooked meringue, citing health concerns. Even when I explained the usage, they refused to sell me probably the best pies I've used in my WAMming career.
When I pied the girl in the white top, I tried using Marshmallow fluff that had been watered down a bit, over some chocolate pudding. Since I never used Marshmallow fluff before, I don't think I watered it down enough. Next time I'll try mixing it with Cool Whip.
It didn't quite get as much coverage as the meringue, but it stuck just as well. I've found Cool Whip to be hit or miss, but the marshmallow fluff seemed to work pretty well. However, I would like to get other WAMmer's opinions. Should I keep experimenting or just lightly modify the marshmallow fluff?
I wam with girls maybe once every couple years. I don't like taking chances on experimenting.
I say use whatever you feel is best. I imagine every single person has unique preferences on pies and coverage. Some want total coverage, some want just the eyes peeking out, some want a thin layer so you can see the girls features. There's also the crust vs no crust crowd etc. personally, I would say experimenting cause who knows what you can cook up

Thank you! I'm looking for individual opinions!
What do you think of the coverages in my three pics? Is the white shirt girl's coverage noticeably different?
For me, it's most important that the pie be real, the subject still be recognizable, and hair and/or face should be adequately impacted. Beyond that, it doesn't matter how the coverage looks.

I hear you. I used uncooked meringue and marshmallow fluff. Not quite "real" but not shaving cream (althtough I like SC myself).
Are the girls in my pics "recognizable" and "adequately impacted" in your opinions?
All three pies had plenty good coverage, IMO. I slightly prefer the top two, which if I understand correctly are the two done with uncooked meringue. But I think the fluff pie used in the third one done with marshmallow fluff looks quite good in and of itself. Sometimes I don't care for marshmallow fluff in WAM because it tends to look a little too glue-y/stretchy/rubbery for my taste, but I'm not getting that at all here.
If you would like to DM me, I will give you a recipe that equates to uncooked meringue, that you can make by yourself quite easily. It eliminates the raw egg white issue, but still gives the exact same results. I promise.
I think the coverage in the first two looks really good. One thing I look for is consistent coverage, and I think the meringue variants provide that really well.
I have never worked with marshmallow fluff, so I wouldn't be able to give any advice on it. In the picture, it looks like it was a little bit stiff, and so it looks like it didn't stick as well in certain places.
Butkeep experimenting. You'll find what works best for you.

I'd say yes, they are, as long as you don't keep piling on with more pies and let the first pie slide off, let them clear their eyes.
