Might have to pull together what everyone is looking for in the custom first before coming up with a script. On the other hand, herding cats is hard enough so it might even be better to write one out on a google doc then have whoever is interested in pitching in for the custom make their comments as we go along.
I'm willing to bet we would all agree on the basic premise though:
Step 1 - Model is admiring herself or otherwise behaving arrogantly as if she has already won when her henchmen call her and tell her they failed locating whatever McGuffin she sent them to find. She's furious, and decides to go handle it herself.
Step 2 - Model arrives on scene and is disgusted by her surroundings from the beginning and throughout the video. Her movements are femininely exaggerated and her tone one of mixed anger and arrogance.
Step 3 - Model's outfit gets progressively dirtier as she walks/sneaks/crawls through wherever she is looking for the McGuffin and voices disgust, despair, and frustration at her situation constantly.
Step 4 - Two or three particularly messy instances ruin at least one part of the outfit. For example, her shoes are ruined from stepping in mud, or something splatters a handful of droplets of whatever onto her dress and she throws a fit.
Step 5 - Model ends up falling into whatever finale substance or thing that ends up completely covering her or otherwise destroying her outfit and overall appearance. She wails in disgust and defeat and walks or crawls away from the set in obvious humiliation.

If 10 ppl throw in $200, we're at 2 Grand! That's a great budget for the level of quality everyone here is looking for in terms of acting ability and production value.

Cool! For a proper calculation, who would be in? I'm willing to give $100-$200
I also took your google doc and put in notes from my previous script I sent to a few producers - this is my Cruella scenario heavily focusing on her nylons.
Just to add a note: If you all do decide to go ahead with this, then as well as what the model should do, wear, and look like, you probably also want to nail down in the contract what the camera angles are to be and general principles on how the scene should be filmed. Wide angle or close-up? Focus on facial reaction, or on the area that's actually getting messy? Basically cover as many bases as possible to ensure the result lives up to expectations.

I agree - contract should definitely include that guarantee, that the angles are shot as noted in the script.
Hey what about the MostWam Team? I'm in the wait loop for a custom - what if we ask them about our project?

I'm good with an equal distribution so no one feels cheated, but if we end up needing an extra hundred or so to get us over the final hump then I'd pitch in more. I'll commit $200, then $300+ if absolutely necessary maybe more.
This might be a long shot but we do have another option for a producer to keep in mind. There's a European producer who doesn't exactly specialize in this genre, but I've been working out a custom with him he'll be shooting in a few weeks when the weather is warmer by them. His clip store is here if interested: https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/139143/shiny-leather-heaven
The scene's premise is a spoiled, rich, heiress gets left in the middle of nowhere by her driver for treating him like shit after he got them lost. She now has to make it back to the main road through the mud in her heels and club outfit and loudly whines and complains the entire time. Her outfit gets more and more ruined as she walks until she finally takes a fall into a giant mud puddle then throws an emotional fit over her ruined designer outfit, hair, and makeup.
The jury is still out on how well they can pull it off obviously so I'll have to wait and see, but the models are gorgeous and he loves the script and is excited to shoot the scene. The model speaks English as well, though I'll probably end up just having her speak her native language with subtitles so it sounds more natural, and the whole thing is surprisingly cheap to have done at least compared to American producers. As of right now it looks like they'd be a more bang for our buck option in my opinion.

MPV was approached about this several times. I would not be surprised to learn they were all the same person. The big problem with efforts like this is nobody wants to be in charge and when you actually find somebody who will, nobody wants to actually put up real money. You can design and plan all day long but until those two hurdles are overcome, it won't happen.
1. Get somebody responsible for making it all happen - "I'm in charge". 2. Get a budget - the amount of money you have will determine what you can shoot. 3. Get the money from everyone interested. 4. Producers treat customs with a script AND money much more seriously. Until then it's just an idea. I got lots of those.
myohpie said: someone, either one of the financial backers or the producer, should invest in and use storyboarding software to address these specific contract points and include them within the terms of the contract. Notes or sides will not be sufficient to spell this sort of specificity out. Best of luck!!!
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. I've been working on a script for a different custom, and I've been going down a rabbit hole with it! I've now written a screenplay using standard formatting (e.g. it's all in 12 point Courier), and I still need to sort out a shot list.
A few things to consider:
* How many pages is it reasonable to shoot per day? In a big-budget Hollywood film, they do 1 page per day. Most indie films seem to average 5 pages per day. The major outlier is "Days of Our Lives", who apparently do 150 pages a day! (I assume this involves multiple teams filming simultaneously on different sets.)
* As I understand it, a screenplay is mainly dialogue, with minimal directions. You might have "X enters" or "X leaves", and that's about it. Beyond that, it's up to the director to work out a shooting script with more details (e.g. "X stands up. She looks furious. Close up on her face.") In my case, I see myself as the screenwriter and (remote) director, while the person on location will be the cinematographer (in charge of cameras, lighting, etc). Someone will also need to act as the editor, merging the footage together.
* How many cameras do you need? Putting that another way, are you planning to film with multiple cameras simultaneously, or will you repeat the same scene in full view, close-up, etc., or will you just pause while the camera operator gets into a new position? Bear in mind that it's easy to repeat the same conversation multiple times, but it's harder to repeat someone getting messy, unless you want them to go off and clean up in between takes. Similarly, you either need multiple copies of the same outfit (probably not practical for Cruella's coat) or you need to clean the costume too.
* I recommend splitting up the shots as much as possible. E.g. your current script says: "Model is annoyed and holds her nose. The smell of the environment is not suitable for a lady! She wants to go back to her car. But she suddenly trips and falls into a slimy, muddy pit. She is in shock, screams and rolls on her back. Her dress gets muddy and her legs are high in the air, kicking like crazy, revealing her thighs. She laboriously stands up and looks down at herself." The key bit is when she trips and falls into the pit, so I'd do that as a shot on its own. The bit about her holding her nose can be repeated multiple times if needed. Likewise, once she's in the mud, you can have multiple attempts at her kicking her legs in the air or standing up.
* I'd also encourage you to be specific about how she falls. E.g. is she landing on her hands and knees or doing a full faceplant from standing? Should her arms be stretched out? You'll need to consider safety issues here, e.g. how deep is the mud. Combined with the previous point, you might even need to cheat a bit, e.g. have a distance shot of her tripping, then cut to a close-up of her landing (so that she could drop from a "doing a press-up" position). Were you around for the controversy about Olivia Munn doing a pie dive (many years ago)? You can watch the clip here: https://youtu.be/4xCEuOebKTE?t=240 Technically she did what she promised, by jumping into a giant pie, but a lot of people were disappointed. On the other hand, I vaguely recall reading that she hurt her knee in the landing, so it's good that she didn't go in head first.
* Your script mentions a car. If that's going to be shown in the video, do you have any preference about what it looks like? E.g. would it spoil the effect if she gets out of a Mini with scratches in the paintwork, when you'd expect her to be driving around in a limo? You might actually be able to hire a posh car specifically for this. (You wouldn't need it for the whole shoot, i.e. you could just film her getting out of the car and then return it to the hire place before you do the muddy stuff.)
* Storyboards are useful. It might be worth talking to some of the artists here to see whether they'd be willing to help. (I'm not sure whether they're allowed to advertise for commissions on this site, but you could follow links to DeviantArt profiles etc.) As an alternative to drawings, you could include photos of other people in the same pose.
Take a look at this discussion for some thoughts on editing trailers with colour balancing etc: https://umd.net/forums/scene-trailers That could be an issue if you're filming outdoors.
Does anybody have any experience with Flaviu from EuroWam? He updated his site custom-videos.com and I corresponded a few times with him a couple months ago. His models are gorgeous and I'm curious if anybody knows his videos. I bought lots of them over the years and wonder what he would do with our kind of scenario

I do not, but judging from the eurowam site it looks like the standard wam content - in other words, girls ruining their outfits and generally enjoying it. That's not to say he wouldn't be worth approaching because I agree the models are gorgeous. However, I think we should be wary of producers who don't typically create story or scenario driven content. I might be overthinking it but that's my two cents.
A comparison would be Anymud.com who created a handful of really good story driven scenes also with gorgeous models and boy could these girls act, I mean really well. Problem is there's a pay wall in front of the content and it's hosted on Sinx.com which seriously must be the worst wam site on the internet like you can't even search their videos unless you sign up for a monthly thing it's ridiculous. Would be great to contact Anymud directly, but Sinx has some kind of monopoly and you can't get through them directly to the producers. It's bizarre.
I once payed a big amount of bucks to download a few of those videos. Among them are quite a few of the "posh bitch gets into mud and does not enjoy it" scenes. Pretty ok, although not English.
I'm loving all the excitement and collaboration for this scene, I need to get in on this convo!
My questions:
1. Does this have to be filmed outdoors or could a green screen (or blue screen) work?
2. How long will this scene be? Fully completed, will this be a half hour scene?
3. Will there need to be large props used for these "traps"?
4. Are there any producers who are willing to work together and collaborate to create this scene?
I've actually never seen this movie or this scene so now I'm really intrigued to watch it! The bitch comeuppance is one of my favorite mess scenarios I've fantasized about. I would love to be able to attempt something of this scale, especially to get to play such a fun character with the grossed out reactions. Regardless of who puts this video together I'd like to see this happen.
Hey guys this post actually mad me register an account here. I am really interesting in participating in this. I like the basic premise althought there are 1-2 elements I would like to add (nothing that would make a huge difference although they are important to me)
We sort of went on standby more or less to see if more people would end up showing interest and potentially making contributions.
On the note of which producer to use that's probably the big challenge next to actually figuring a way to get money to them from everyone for the scene once the script is hashed out. If I might make a recommendation, I had a Ukrainian producer make a custom that, even though isn't a Cruella de Vil scene, still has the "spoiled rich girl gets taught a messy lesson for having an attitude" theme. Storyline is basically this:
1. Spoiled rich heiress gets angry at her driver for getting them lost 2. Driver quits his job and leaves her in the middle of nowehere 3. Spoiled rich heiress has to hike back to the main road and gets muddy along the way
He sent the teaser preview to me recently and I attached some pics from it. Haven't seen the whole thing yet. So he's an option as well and the model he used I would say is a better actress than every single American wam model I've ever seen.
You could make a safe vat out of straw bales. Small bales and place some black plastic to make it look like a vat make it secure buy strapping the outside. Fill the bottom with loose hay and make a fairly thick substance to the brim , say 5'high. The model could be lowered in or cut to where she drops Just an idea
So this one studio I mentioned a while ago, "Shiny Leather Heaven," did my custom where a spoiled rich girl gets dropped in the middle of nowhere and ends up getting a little muddy in the process. The experience with that producer was a good one and the script was followed very closely. Unfortunately due to the weather over there not cooperating and some miscommunication (he thought I wanted the video asap as opposed to waiting for a lot of mud) the scene didn't turn out 100% as expected. However, it was very well done, the price was relatively low, and his models are all gorgeous and pretty decent actresses. Him and I are working out a remake of that scene and we're now both on the same page as far as having the model get really muddy as opposed to only a little bit.
Anyway to my thought...
He uploaded a new scene to his C4S site here: https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/139143/shiny-leather-heaven "Lucy smokes and relaxes." The scene is not my thing, but the outfit she had on was very Cruella-ish and that's where I got my thought about possibly having this guy do the Cruella de Vil scene we're looking for. He filmed a handful of his scenes in a really muddy forest that I think would be perfect and you can check out the previews on his page.
I'm thinking the scenario would be the model going to this forest to look for something her incompetent henchmen couldn't find after deciding to take matters into her own hands. Well, as you would expect she is dressed to the nines in a similar outfit to the scene I mentioned, maybe with a fur coat and wide brimmed hat, and is completely out of her element as she trips and falls over and over getting more and more muddy before giving up altogether.
My opinion is this producer is the best option given the return on investment coupled with the attractiveness of his models and their above par acting skills compared to American models and producers. Anatomik Media for instance charged $2500 for the Casey Calvert Cruella de Vil scene they did and my reaction to it was essentially "meh."
Anyway, curious about feedback and what everyone else thinks about that as a potential option.

For those still interested we are moving ahead with the Cruella themed custom scene. We have a producer and a skype group of about a dozen people so far. I'll see if I can post the script on here. If I can't then feel free to check it out here: https://join.skype.com/s0nu6Abyv1pe

After many moons of searching I've decided to just throw in the towel and make the leap to getting a custom done. I'm looking for a sort of slapstick knock off of the infamous Cruella de Vil barn scene as a reference (I've used the movie title on here in the past and got my comment/post removed by admins but everyone knows which one I'm talking about). Model performance doesn't have to be Oscar worthy by any means but at least somewhat decent acting is a plus. She would be very well dressed with perfect hair and makeup and I can send you links for the wardrobe.
The storyline is pretty basic and goes as you'd expect. She trespasses somewhere looking for something she needs like an important document of some sort. She loudly and arrogantly complains about how stupid her henchmen are and how they should be the ones doing this, not her, but they're too useless and so she has to do it herself. She continues to sneak around the area and as you could imagine has a rough time of it from how impractical her outfit is (high heels, mini dress, purse, etc). She freaks out after stepping in some mud, scoffs and curses when she stumbles a little, and generally moans and complains as she looks around being very careful not to ruin her outfit but freaks out when she can't avoid it. She does this for the majority of the scene until she comes up to the final mess... some kind of mud pit ideally or some other substance, which she doesn't notice. She trips on something and with an expression of horror and yelp of surprise at the mess ends up falling into it. She struggles for a minute while loudly whining about how her outfit and hair are ruined. She eventually climbs out and stumbles out of the area utterly humiliated and defeated.
The finer details can be worked out offline but that's basically it. Any takers out there or recommendations for who can pull this one off?
