I enjoy the frozen pies at GFS Food Stores or the grocery stores. I buy some bags of Rich's On Top or cool whip if I am not near a GFS. Rich's on top is a cross between cool whip and icing. it's thicker like the top layer of the store bought pies.
I also will take a pie crust or when I can't get those, a pie tin and mix 16 oz cool whip with a can of frosting. Pick any flavor / color you like (stay away from the ones with sprinkles and such in it). It creates a thicker pie that sticks to you well. great coverage and feel and it keeps it feeling if it warms up some while you are in it. It has the same feeling as Rich's on top.
I like Rich's on top because it is in a piping bag already, so adding it to a pie or to decorate the top of a cake, its versatile. I like to buy a cake and add a full bag to it, nice and thick for face cakes or cake sittings. Use your imagination, but filling your pants with it is fun too
