Sorry, that 'couple of days' became a couple of weeks. However, I have an easy and inexpensive formula to make this clear slime.

I use a 2 Liter food processor, fill with warm water and get it spinning on low. Next, you will need 4 heaping teaspoons of CMC powder. Slowly drop the powder from the spoon into the spinning water until it appears to have mixed. Repeat until all four are mixing. To make it thicker, you could add a fifth heaping teaspoon. Leave it mixing on low speed for at least a minute or two. Air bubbles may make it appear white at first, but it will be clear after you let it sit for about an hour.

CMC powder is short for Carboxymethylcellulose which is a food-grade thickener. You can get it on Amazon for about 12 dollars, and the 9 ounce package will make many liters of clear slime. (12 or more at least) The good news is that it dissolves into nothing by adding more water, and comes off of skin and clothing much easier than some other polymer-based substances.

To fill a bathtub, you'll need more patience if you're mixing it 2 liters at a time, and probably should buy CMC in a larger package. You might be able to just sprinkle it on the surface of the bath water and use a paint mixer on a drill to mix it, but there is a greater risk for lumps or having it not mix properly. The food processor method is pretty much foolproof.

As for safety, carboxymethylcellulose is used in eye drops and with contact lenses so it is a safe, plant-based product, although a small number of people may have an allergy to it.
