The remastering campaign is picking up steam! At least until I get back to actually editing stuff people haven't seen....

SS02-SS10 join SS01 in being remastered (from crap WMV to less-crap MP4!) and expanded. Pretty much every scene in the first 5 volumes was unedited, but these updated versions now have the 2nd angle added as well. (Does the 2nd angle look great? Not really! It gets better from SS04 on tho.)

By SS06-10, I'd actually learned to cut between both angles! Editing out my own instructions.... Hmm, that was gonna take a little more time.....
What I noticed is that a lot of these clips had just the 5-min edit and nothing else. Which made sense in 2005, when a 50MB download was "huge." Now, not so much. So a lot of these have been expanded with up to 15 additional minutes of unedited footage from both angles! (Basically getting the edit & the RAW in one download.) And file sizes... Still pretty tiny by 2023 standards.

I have fond memories of these seat-of-the-pants shoots... Picking up tubs of Cool Whip on my lunch break, getting off work and heading to the cheap motel to set up, shooting 5 scenes in 3 hours.... Good times! You can even see the beginnings of the SCU (SlapstickStuff Cinematic Universe) here, from the origins of the Cream Pie Maniac, to head dunking in a bowl of glop, to the Soupy Sales side-profile pies, to early Wonder Woman, to soooo many top hats. I even figured out how to make slime! (Eventually.)

And I still had time to make multiple trailers celebrating "milestones" like my first 5 volumes. And then my first 10. Who knew?!?

Remastered downloads are now in the UMD Store and SlapstickStuff.vidown.com. Streaming clips should be the new versions. (Might need to wait til tomorrow for Vidown.) More to come!

So do the new versions contain the original 5-minute-ish edit followed by the raw clip? Or is it just the RAW clip only (which contains everything in the edit, just not in edited form)?

Vol 04 is a particular favorite. Why? Because the girl (Tracy?) is working really hard to give you the shots you need!

Yes, edit plus RAW stuff. It's everything that was on the DVDs, but chopped up into download form.

So if "Scene One" previously only had the 5-min edit (on the download), now it has that edit followed by "Behind The Scenes" unedited footage from Camera 1 (like on the DVD).... and then another few minutes of the unedited messy stuff from Camera 2.
(On the DVD, the final chapter would be "Bonus Camera 2 Shots" but it was all the Cam2 footage in a row. Now it's matched to the respective scenes.)

Haha, that's either SS02 or SS07 for Tracy. But that's 100% her.
I remember contacting her about shooting, and we met at a coffee place beforehand. (Yes, once upon a time I met models, IN PERSON, before a shoot. Now I'm lucky if I get one phone call in between texts!) She came with her portfolio book! It was like she was auditioning to be hit with pies. It was.... amazing.
(Of course I wasn't gonna tell her that I didn't know what I was doing and the fact that she was super cute and willing to get pied made her an insta-hire.)
