So I tried to get messy with shaving cream. Though I first thought that only 3 cans of this cheap brand I found may not be enough to play in, I was quickly proven wrong as they produced plenty of foam to cover my entire body. At first it felt realy nice to get completely covered in it. I event thought about buying a new batch and taking my camera with me for the next session. But after a few minutes I started to feel the "bad" effects of shaving cream. There was no sting in my eyes. A problem I read (in this forum) can be solved by just airing it out (the foam). My Problem was the menthol content in the foam. The stuff that is meant to cool your skin when using it as intended. As it turns out it will not only cool your cheeks, but also everywhere else it touches. Including any softer tissue between your legs. Also my entire body was starting to quickly alternate between cold and burning hot. Completely ruining the experience. And then it got worse. Trying to clean up under the shower with my now oversensitive skin was making me either burn or freeze up if the water wasn't within a very thin temperatur range.
And so my question is: How do you enjoy this? Or what did I do wrong?
I'm not sure what brands are available in Germany, but there should be non-menthol options available. Look for anything labeled for "Sensitive Skin" (and check the ingredients list!) as those typically don't contain menthol.
In the US, most (not all) shaving cream that Barbasol makes doesn't contain menthol including their plain regular version and is my usual go-to option.
Yikes, I would not put anything with menthol in it on my body for long periods of time. Barbasol sensitive skin (orange can). Never had an issue with it.

This! Barbasol sensitive skin is great and never causes any issues

Definitely! This or the red original can. No issues.
