What are people's thoughts on creating a separate savory forum on here?

I don's see that working, for multiple reasons:

We've never had a separate mud forum and arguably mud is a very different thing to food or gunge.
We've never had a separate gunge forum either, again, gunge and food are different things.
What happens when a scene mixes sweet and savoury - custard and soup, for instance?

What do you think would be the advantage of having a separate Savoury forum?

While I like the idea of being able to filter out some content to find my particular flavour, in reality it's not gonna happen. Too many variables.

If we start distinguishing so much, might as well have a separate forum for synthetics like slime and gunge. I'd love to filter those out.

The issue is that if you fragment a community, it can reduce traffic and activity in all of the fragments.

As much as I would want a separate forum for savory-related WAM since I'm not a huge fan of savory WAM and would like to have those videos/posts separated from slime, pies, and sweet foods, I have to agree with the other comments that it would be too difficult to determine what would go under a separate "savory" category due to many variables and also, it could just cause more fractions within the community that might make less people use the forums.

That sounds way too needlessly complicated.

Would a more robust tag system with added filters be an option someday?

Savory isn't my thing, but I don't mind it being in my forum feed. I realize there's all kinds of likes/dislikes within the community and I'm OK with it. I will say I've filtered out guys getting gunged because it's not what I'm looking for in WAM, but IMO that's different than splitting different types of gunge. I'm a mostly slime women fan, but I do like pies and chocolate at times, so having everything separated like that would make the site less user friendly. You could try using the search function to help filter out what you're specifically looking for, I do that sometimes and have had success.

I tend to just use the search function to filter out the mess that isn't at the top of my list. As above posters have said it probably just over complicates things, especially when you have the ability to search already there.

So I don't have to see it. It's a turn-off for me. And hopefully the fish/dog food slime posts go there too, so I don't have to see those either.

A filter for dog food / meat products / fish would be awesome. Last time this was suggested there was resistance to the idea from a moderator who said it was too much work and wouldn't work. I'm sure they'll be able to explain why again, but seeing as we have successful gender filters and 'synthetic' filters based on tagging, I can't see why it's impossible.

The problem with that approach is you end up with enormous fragemntation and a whole bunch of forums with just one or two people in, and the whole thing dies.

I'd imagine all of us will have things that are posted here which are turn-offs, some of mine being:

Nudity.
Humiliation.
Gross mess (like the fish slime).
Anything involving actual sex.

However I accept that while I don't like, and am actively turned off by, those things, they're an important part of it for other people. To me all WAM should be done by happy, enthusiastic people who really enjoy getting messy and look forward to it. I'm actively turned off by anyone who appears to be feeling shame or real humiliation, I find gross wam revoting and non-sexy, and nudity just leaves me cold, I have zero interest or reaction. But there are others out there for whom that's a massive part of what their version of the fetish is about.

TBH I think the best solution is just for people to make clear what their threads are about with well chosen subject lines, and I get the impression the people producing stuff like fish slime scenes tend to do that, so its easy to avoid their threads?

Personally I don't want to block things from sight though. For example, I know anything referencing "Human Garbage Disposal" at the moment is going to be a tied-up girl getting humilation slimed with nasty gunge. But at the same time, what if someone decides to do a fully clothed, sweet food version where the girl is into what is being done? I'd not want to miss the chance to see that by blocking all HGD posts.

the whole deal with the umd is it is a place for people of all tastes, all messes, all different kinks to come together.
I know a lot of my customers who have been with me from the start that started off just liking, for example, peanut butter and chocolate.
NOw? They are into savory stuff once in a while, different substances and different ways of people getting messy.
I attribute this to this forum being so vast and filled with all things!
Plus? Just a tiny deal: Some things that are considered a "sweet" in the us are considered a "savory" in the uk.
I digress. I have come across many things that I found to not be up my alley....but? I just scroll past.
I also have come across things that I didnt think I would enjoy? but? After seeing it, finding myself intrigued and purchasing it? I enjoyed it! That is the beauty of the umd.
I feel like taking a substance, in which, was seen all over the pages of splosh magazine (which I feel like is one of the most influential places for mess before the umd) into a category by itself.
It is messy. One of the messiest substances in my opinion! The mess is crazy, the clean up is nuts. Savory? Is absolute chaos of mess!
I cant imagine it being somewhere else! I like to do savory messes as a challenge to myself...I dont use it typically in sexual stuff...but? I do want to try!

I understand if you are turned off by it but? There are lots of things that turn me off but I just continue to scroll. Or? if you are into it and want to be able to find it all in one place...
I know that any producer that uses savory does either put it in the title or in their keywords. it should be super easy to find!
So? To respond to that? I say, I dont think that is a great idea. Savory has been in the messy scene since the messy scene was a "scene"
It is a large part of wam. Same as mud, same as slime, same as manmade slime, if it gets you messy? It should be in the messy category with all other messes.

To me, the ideal way would be to make the Forum's search tool more robust by adding "not" operators. In google, you can construct a search of a website that excludes certain keywords; see here to learn how:

Of course, Google doesn't look at every thread, and "messy" doesn't capture every Messy Forum post, so searching UMD through Google yields incomplete results. But I suspect that incorporating that particular functionality into UMD's search may not be trivial, especially in terms of server time. Also if I'm not mistaken, at present it's only capable of searching on one keyword at a time? Plus I hate making more work for MM

Fully support changes to the search function though, it straight up doesn't work well at the moment.
