Family Guy devolved into stoner humor IMO that happened to be rather dark and morbid as well. Poorly written comedy is sadly very popular while more intellectual shows get canceled because people don't want to have to think while watching a TV show.
And I agree that one study by itself is never truly significant. It's only good science if it can be replicated with large sample sizes and I agree that one once source for dark humor isn't the best experimental design.
