Hey guys, I've finally put up a new chat room that doesn't require Java. It's linked at the top, and I'm calling it the Hangout instead because it sounds less clinical
If it doesn't work quite right for you, please let me know either right here or via PM. Also, the link to the old Parachat is there at the bottom.
I'll be in there all day if anybody wants to try it out with me.

Just had a mooch around in there MM and it looks great. The work you've put into turning this website into a "social network" over the last couple of years has been fantastic!

Bloody useless.
First real reported problem! Can you make sure you're on the latest version of your browser? The new chat uses HTML5 instead of Java, so it couldn't hurt....
Doesn't work for me either - I get blank screens in Hangout and the old chat doesn't work. I'm using Internet Explorer 9 on a 2007 Vista machine. It's old but not THAT old.
OK, now I've downloaded another browser (Chrome) and I can get into Hangout. It seems the latest versions of Internet Explorer only work with the latest versions of Windows. IE9 which is only 3 years old after all and is the latest version that works with Vista (which is still supported by Microsoft) will not work with the new Hangout.
Perhaps you need to detect the browser when someone goes to the Hangout link, and advise leaving the early part of the last decade if appropriate
Working for me - I like it.... although last night I did notice it was quite laggy. You'd sometimes get what you wrote instantly on the screen, sometimes it would be up to 20-30 seconds, and once or twice it never showed.
Also once it just froze on me, no-one else could see me, and I had nothing moving at all...
Chrome v33 on Ubuntu Linux, if it matters
Still nicer than the old java chat, and I like that it shows you the previous few minutes too!
