What was the ingredients in the early to late 90s gunge ? I want to make some of my own

I think it depends on the series. Pretty sure the Fairground Series and the 1997 series used. Wallpaper paste as it so looks like it. It's a shame that by 1999 the gunge was very watery and not as thick.

Real wallpaper paste contains toxic ingredients, so I doubt that it what it was. A lot of messy substances that are safe to use can be made to resemble wallpaper paste though.

it's just HEC, natrosol or xanthan gum type slime

get it from messy supplies (any of those, hec is easier to mix... I think they might call it MS gunge)

Have to say agree with the others here. I wouldn't bother making it, just get some from places like messy supplies. I've never had a problem with anything I've used so far from them and it's fairly reasonable.

I'm pretty sure they used xantham gum in the later series. There's a video out there somewhere where a member of the prop team showed someone how to make it.
