I've got a question about gunge as in my years of WAM I've only ever used actual gunge twice. The most recent time we made 40L of msgunge and it really fucked with AimMe's eyes. At first we thought maybe it was her eye makeup but after getting that cleaned off she still had a lot of issues with the gunge burning her eyes. This kinda fucked the session up as she'd wanted to lean back and take a bucket straight to the face but decided against it after a few minutes of dealing with the pain. Is this common for people? I didn't get gunged so I can't add anything regarding my experience but it really sucked the fun out of the idea of gunge for us and we'd like to try it again if people have suggestions or different experiences.

I keep my eyes closed but messypup gunge was the last gunge I used didn't have any issue
I have a couple of times when it's been quite stingy in my eyes. If I've got quite the abundance on my face with gravity pulling it inwards not down and I'm trying to clear it with gunge covered fingers it has caused a bit of a sting. But if I can rinse my fingers or get some paper towels quick enough and scrape out the majority it seems fine, no lasting pain really. Have managed head dunks fine with it, probably have adjusted my eye closing and clearing technique from the previous experiences.
The gunge they sell has powder paint in it to get the colour (you can smell it). This is obviously non-toxic and the ph levels low or zero but could be a factor for some.
I can have problems with getting anything in my eyes. My eyes smarted for a couple of days after being gunged.
Sounds a bit nasty actually! I've never had any stingy issues with MS gunge, even when it's mixed with shaving foam. Presumably it would sting other sensitive areas?
It's going to be one of those things that's different for every person. I've got really sensitive eyes, as a kid even the "no more tears" mild shampoos would cause horrible stinging. Never had gunge in my eyes but several of our regular people have, even to the point they've commented on it turning their vision green, but no-one's reported it stinging.
Sadly, if AimMe finds gunge stings her eyes, that probably just means her eyes are sensitive to one or more of the compounds in it, and the only option will be to avoid getting any in her eyes, and/or only use other substances that she knows she's OK with.
Appreciate all the replies. Still not entirely sure why it hurt her eyes so bad, but since Trouso mentioned the powdered paint, we have a clear/white pack that I think I'm going to try and see if that hurts her eyes. If that's the case we might just avoid gunge in the future.
