Hi everyone. I am going to be doing a shaving foam pool next month with my usual 20 or so cans. I was wondering about using shaving gel as well. I have used Gel on its own with disappointing results. Not sure if it is worth using both, or just stick to foam. Anyone used both? Was it good to mix them? Any advice would be appreciated.
I find gel often disappoint as gel never seams to foam as well as a can of foam. I found adding a pre-made mix of flour, water and cooking oil to a couple of cans of foam in a bucket makes the foam a litter runnier, creamier and but still nice and thick, and doesn't evaporate as fast. Obviously, its important to thoroughly mix the flour/water/cooking oil with a stick blender so you don't get those dreaded flour balls. The cooking oil stops the mixture from going drying out and going hard.
Also, Messy Supplies' Avalance pie foam is very good and one can goes a lot further than at least 3 cans of 200ml Gillette foam.
Good luck!

shaving gel is AMAZING for full body application!! AMAZING!! but, in my experience it is the skintimate shave gel that does best and only for BODY APPLICATION. it is smooth and relaly nice feeling and i think coating your body in it and then plunging into some foam would be incredible!! note: that stuff is very moisturizing, therefore, IT TAKES A FEW SHOWERS! it leaves kind of a slimy feel to the hair and skin...nothing too terrible and honestly if you have dry skin...it helps where the regular foam dries out your skin! they work hand in hand! so, for body application, its rad!!

Gel shave cream DOES burn a bit, but that can add to the fun sometimes
if I wanted to try this, what are the instructions? i have tried Gillette foam in pie crust before and Barbasol in a 6 pack. Can you order 20 online? I ask because they made me wait a few days before sending out 6.

What's the little gel you are putting on top?
thank you
I usually plan ahead & get a few cans every time I shop. The gel is just normal shaving gel to either spray into the 20 can mound, or spray on top for a bit of colour/different feel.
