Personally, ballet stuff is really fun to get trashed in because it's just so absurd and the super thin skirt material ends up heavy. Like the opposite of what it started off as

Ice skating costumes come in a close second, they're better than a regular swimsuit because the material has more give and there's decoration (thanks for probably the 100th time btw! )

Ice skating outfits are a great idea as well! These where clearance items from a dance and cheer supply website. I am looking forward to scouting out new muddy locations In my ballet outfits as the weather warms up.The frilly layers would feel great weighed down by mud.

I used a few gallons of chocolate pudding rather than mud, but can 100% confirm this! No regrets, need to find a way to make that happen again

I think pizza sauce or tomato paste would love great with the yellow and green and purple outfits.

I also think nacho cheese would look great with the cheerleader outfits.

Seconded. Ballet outfits are always well recieved; There's someting extra-appealing about watching something so symbolically feminine as the ballet dancer degenerate into some kind of filthy, mucky...well, you get the idea.

Thank you for the suggestions! A savory messy is definitely in the works for the cheer outfits. Nacho cheese has been on my list of things to try for awhile now.

We were lucky to get in a few mud shoots last year while the water table was low. There has been a good bit of precipitation this winter, now the muddy locations we shot at last year are under water We were at that lake last week to do a wet shoot (https://umd.net/forums/topicid/932960), I took some pictures of the former mud shoot locations for comparison (the current picture is after the related muddy ones).

I've done nacho and cheddar cheese, and nacho can definitely have a little bit of a sting to it if it gets around the eyes. It looks exactly the same as cheddar sauce. Either kind may need to have just a bit of water added to make it more pourable. A lot of it will want to stay in the can.

Both come out clean if you soak what you were wearing for a bit in a sink or tub with a dishwasher + laundry detergent + water mix before throwing it in the wash. I'll let stuff sit for maybe a half hour or so. Works wonders with cake batter too, and whatever stains and dirt thrifted stuff may have come with.

I find it hilarious when nice stuff I get from thrift stores that have been passed over because of staining comes out like new after getting covered in pies and cake batter during a scene
