im fairly new to producing wetlook content, but my wife and i have gotten the hang of it in the past year. we rent pools in our area for our shoots, so its a lot of money, driving, and planning to do each shoot. however, its also something we both deeply enjoy. Nubia had never heard of wetlook or WAM before i told her one day about 5 years ago. first, she did some clothed showers for me, but i could tell she wasn't really enjoying herself.
We never really revisited it until my birthday last year, when I found a pool rental app called Swimply, where we could go to someone's pool for two or three hours. i took a chance and asked her if she would want to. the biggest problem wasn't getting her to try it, its that as of the summer of last year, Nubia didn't know how to swim. before we really got to start shooting things and learning, i had to teach her how to actually swim first. which is a lot harder when you're older than when you're a kid. i grew up around lakes and rivers, she grew up in a major city. learning was part of every kid's childhood where i was from, for her, maybe the public pool once in a while during the summer.
Nubia was never particularly fond of how revealing swimsuits are, but the thought to just wear clothes never occurred to her, besides maybe a t shirt. She feels much more secure and confident in the pool now and would probably jump in at random if she saw one.(which i would LOVE to see) and she even has outfits she picks for me that she loves to see me in. Basically the same stuff over and over again, but she loves it. which actually makes me feel more confident to see that she thinks the way i look while wet is attractive. im not the most confident person to being with, so that is a big deal for me.
Now it's become not only a way for me to use my previous photography experience, but also a great relaxation and, admittedly, an arousing experience between Nubia and Sometimes i have trouble holding the camera right because of how much she drives me crazy in the pool. were not exactly what id call well known in the wetlook community, but those of us who do know our content see that we really enjoy ourselves. which to me, comes across on camera far better than typical models from bigger producers who dont seem that interested.
Unfortunately, we only get to do this about 4 or 5 times a year now, because Nubia travels for her work and we only see each other once every few weeks. That does make the times we get to go to the pool all the more special though. if you're a wetlook or WAM enthusiast but your partner isnt or maybe they dont know that about you, i encourage opening up about it. hope you enjoyed our story!
