Had blue icing or used blue food coloring in a heavy cream and it did make light tint in my gf skin but u couldn't really see it u less under hella bright light. Did use strawberry sauce once on a gf and her skin did get a bit more red but we just said if anyone asked it was from being in sun cause she was extra pale regularly
Ive bathed in 5 gallons of straight blue food coloring with the intention of it temporarily dying my skin - it washed right off. Barely even noticed a tint of it aside from a little around the skin on my finger/toe nails.
I wouldn't worry about it - if it does change your skin color - just say you went on a charity "Color Run".

It came off with a little scrubbing. I have tried every color the have with no issues. Ask for it at the bakery counter. 12 lb buckets of colored frosting are $16!! Great deal! The big buckets of white are 32lbs and cost $38. Have fun!!!
Undiluted food colouring straight out of the bottle will tend to cause skin staining but not usually if it's incorporated into a mixture.
There is some risk of staining hair that has been lightened or salon treated to accept colour, too.
As an aside I tend to use non-toxic paint to colour frosting rather than food colouring. It's far more effective. Nobody's actually eating it, are they?
NB. As with all these things - especially using 'extreme' or 'risky' substances there's no alternative to giving them a try to build up experience and confidence.

I've used regular food coloring before with no issues, usually in cake batter and oatmeal. The icing just looked so vivid I was concerned.
" Nobody's actually eating it, are they?". Well..maybe a little.
I have had icing stain my skin a bit but I found all it takes is some hot water and a little extra time in the shower to get it off , and mixing it with whipped topping or other substances helps. All I had to due was hop back in the shower for a bit longer and make sure to give my face a little scrub nothing too hard.
Any staining issues I've had with any form of dye (including hair dye, I've been black, brown, red, blue and purple) could be fixed with a hot shower followed by few cotton wool pads and an alcohol-based toner, which you can pick up pretty cheap at any drugstore (cheaper the better usually, just make sure you moisturise after).
If you wash with a washcloth/flannel it helps too as the dye normally only only takes to dead skin (also a great tip in general if you've dry skin). You'll probably find more staining in callused areas e.g. palms of hands, soles of feet and elbows. Hand/body scrubs can be good too, but for the love of all that is gungey don't grind them into your skin! Gentle pressure is key, if it hurts you're doing it wrong!
