Ok, so today jayce and I were able to make it to the spot where the mud shoots take place. Although the large mud pit was still slightly too saturated for a good vid not far away an excellent spot consistently made up of nice thick clay mud. This made for an excellent shoot but I admit my expectations slightly differentiated from reality. I had never been in mud like this (at least for this reason). I could totally see how you guys/girls could have a shitload of fun playing in it, however from behind the camera it at moments was quite difficult. I'm in jeans and doc Martin 10 eye combat boots submerged up to my knees attempting to concentrate on framing and angles, when in actuality mobility was my biggest challenge. I had no idea how much of an actual pit this area could be. Having to take two showers and completely painting the inside of my jeep with clayish muddy chaos, I do feel some great footage was captured today (with agreement from jayce as well, .....ok so I asked her opinion considering I may have something resembling an insecurity or two considering this type of recording environment was completely foreign to me and I try to get shots that I feel everyone here would prefer). Look for the video to be posted by jayce soon but ill put a few screen caps up in just a few minutes. Also got some "behind the scenes footage" I think you all will probably dig. About to edit everything and I'll see what I can put on this forum.
i do too! i cant wait to release this! we are working on it now!! should be up by tonight! more to come! get at me for some customs!! i would love to make some fantasies come true in this mud. the pit will be ready soooooon! we had some flooding and it was flooded up on the top of the mud but, it is draining the water on top and will be a sea of mud very soon!
I can't wait to see you nude in the mud again, Jayce! The last photo reminds me of this photo of Lauren Hutton, but I'm happy to see you're wearing less than her. You're amazing!
Looks really smooth.. the quarries around here are getting more activity.. i notice other bike trails and foot prints in the clay, besides my own.. and I'm like, "Where are they?" after this massive rain we got, it should be even smoother
Great pics, Jayce & Biz! You're about to go full swing back into the mud business!
Norman
Thanks for props. I do what i can try to give everyone what they want. Its nice to get some positive acknowledgement when Jayce still calls me "camera guy" (which is kinda weird anyway considering we have known each other for more than a decade), if she has to reference or address while filming .
I know they brought me in to help them out late last, or early this year, but in that amount of time i have become more than aware of how much behind the scenes type things that either need to be done and are not normally thought about (at least by me before), or all the extra time and effort (and work) you can catch yourself putting in, in order to improve what has been done, or attempt to make constant adjustments to try to make it something you guys/girls would be more into, on some level.
Now Jayce and I are lucky because im 1/4 nerd on my dads side ("twice removed".....even though i dont know what that means, but it sounds funnier), and i actually enjoy doing a lot of the technical aspects. Though thats probably not the first impression people get when they first see me though. Im a little more Oi fucking Oi! than beep boop meep morp (generic computer noises........from the 50's).
Biz reminds me of jilly as far as being a perfectionist. He just lives much closer. Oh wait. Hes my roomate! Haha! Its actually really cool to introduce him to this stuff head on....like really....head first!! Biz has a great appreciation for the art of it and capturing it. just like jilly and kemic have. We will work with thrm again soon....they just live so far away!
