Plenty of times we planned something only for life to pat us on the head, say "that's cute", and turn everything upside down.
I've even got some natrosol from Messy Supplies that's been sitting in our closet for over a year. Beautiful sky blue and pink slime. Just laughing at me.
Beyond losing faith, I had resigned myself to the idea that our fun days were done.
Then last week, coincidentally after I received my first-ever digital wamming by Kelsey Rose, the Mrs comes back from errands with what you see in the pic below.
20+ years on this forum and no one has ever done the "you've been slimed" thing to me before. Then the first time it happens, magic...
Appreciate your wam voodoo, Kelsey.
Gonna be a fun day!
Anyone know if natrosol holds up for a year if it's stored right?
Normally what's in the pic is enough to have some fun, but it's been a while and I kinda wanna make it epic.
Anyway...PHEW...can't wait...
I'll throw some pics up if I can find the old camera charger.
Cheers to all the parents out there, making it happen.
Have fun and enjoy it whenever you can. We have 2 small kids so we only wam when they are in bed. Would love to send them to grandmas house for a whole day.

Generally our sessions are way to big to do that. Prep, the act, the break down.... No way would it be possible without her in a crib... When shes done with the crib its going to have to be a weekend and grandma's for sure inorder to do anything.
Most of our smaller sessions can be done at night in the shower when our three kids (6.5, 4, and 1) are asleep for the night. Our bigger sessions (the ones I put down plastic for and set up the garage) will usually involve me setting up the night before and morning of, taking the day off work, then doing it while the oldest is in school and the youngest two are with their grandma for the day. It's not easy and it won't get easier as they get older.
Certainly feel your pain thedude18 - it was easily at least 4 years after becoming parents that we got back to wamming, and it's remained very infrequent since then. Still, once they've all started school maybe some daytime fun could be on the cards for us.
So pleased for you that you're going to have a session together and hope it's epic fun.
And The Man and the Wife, Wildthang etc- absolutely in awe of the idea of combining being a wam producer while raising a family - you guys must be the most organised people on the planet!
Thanks, everyone. I guess more than anything, our kids are just now getting to the point where we can safely unplug without the fear of one of us having to answer the call. Both are light sleepers and don't self-soothe, son is highly sensitive and prone to meltdowns, stuff like that. People have it worse than us so we never fought it. But it did get to me sometimes, as I've said here on a couple of occasions.
So yeah, excited and relieved that we're gonna be turning that corner. Now that I'm working from home with a high degree of autonomy and am taking a break from grad school, we've earmarked a couple days a week that coincide with daycare to stroll around the house nekkid and tease the hell out of each other.
Gonna be a fun summer.
Thanks for the reassurance with the natrosol. I was really looking forward to trying that. It's the extra think natrosol, and I bought some thick ms gunge to go along with it.
I'm thinking I'd use the cake batter first, then the Messy Supplies second. My fear is that the batter wouldn't stick too well on top of the natrosol. Can any mess-mixers out there call truth or bullshit on that for me?

Appreciate the good vibes, everyone.
it will stick a bit better before the natrosol definitely, it doesn't make a huge difference though. The main problem is trying to use marshmallow fluff after natrasol, that's absolutely impossible (fluff after most things is tbh)

JFC you're efficient. My daughter is the same age and we're lucky if she naps for.an hour on weekends. I can't imagine setup, doing the deed, and cleanup happening in less than 4 hours.

Hats off to.you.
Yeah same thoughts here. Super impressive.
We're not even helicopter parents. There's just no way to get in the mood while the kids are in the house. Not even for a shaving cream quickie lol.
Another reason I'm looking forward to trying the natrosol. Seems like prep and cleanup is a little less intense than cake batter.
To think of the mess TMaTW manage to pull off with a toddler in the house...
