Hi Umdsters,

A friend and I have got some great ideas for some messy skits we'd like to do. As ever the problem is finding a venue. Does anyone still operate any of those studios where you can go and get set up and make your own content? I have been researching this in some great depth recently and have slammed into a number of brick walls. I have the feeling that they are not really financially viable and thus on the decline. If anyone has a safe space or small studio they'd like to rent out for an afternoon please do message me and let me know. I have the feeling that Elstree is going to be a bit above budget on this occasion!

BTW we are nice fellows and prepared to help with prep and cleanup, etc. So you will find us a charm to deal with!

I second LA Studio. It's only up the road from me so i can offer assistance with last min supplies and the owner is a friend.

Hey, funny you should ask... This year, I've been thinking about opening up my studio to a wider range of creatives to help more people bring their WAM video ideas to life.

We're based in South East London, and the studio space is tailored for splosh shoots, shaped by over 15 years of experience making my own films. It includes a range of setups and props, including a gunge tank! It's a relatively flexible space and easy to work in, whether you're planning something simple or a bit more elaborate. I offer assisted studio hire, meaning I'm on hand throughout your session to make sure everything runs smoothly and your vision comes together.

I've previously hosted the likes of Rev Slymsford, Messy Mayhem, and a few other content creators for custom content. Right now, I'm handling bookings on a case-by-case basis, but I'm definitely open to hearing from anyone with fun ideas and creative plans.

I actually work in tv and film doing stunt work and have contacts in a few tv studios including elstree, I can always ask around for you, but knowing what rosters is like you would struggle for availability anyway, elstree filming space is often fully booked a year or two in advance! There is currently a waiting list for filming space at elstree, because that is where lots of long term projects are made, media city, Bristol and shepherds bush studios are far easier to get space at and a lot cheaper, Bristol studio is half the price of elstree studios, because it is mostly short term and animal based productions!!!!
