When I first saw the big mud scene in Tommy, I, of course, enjoyed seeing Ann-Margret get messy. But I also appreciated how the producers seemed to enjoy destroying the pristine all-white room she was in.
In the movie Are We There Yet, Ice Cube takes a bunch of kids in his new vehicle. He tells them he doesn't want a scratch on it. Over the course of the movie, the vehicle slowly gets destroyed, much to his chagrin. I believe the same thing happens to Jackie Gleason's car in one of the Smokey and the Bandit movies.
In Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World, Jonathan Winters fights with some one and slowly destroys the gas station he is in.
I am not saying these scenes are wankable, but I like them. Whatever is in me that gets aroused by seeing women go from clean to destroyed enjoys this aspect of some comedies. Am I alone? Are there any other examples?
I have always dreamed of doing something like this and always try to encompass as much as I can when I get messy. Normally it doesn't amount to more than getting a bit of mess where it shouldn't. I suppose my greatest treat was a few years ago when my wife agreed to get me messy. What I enjoyed most was how she came up with all the ideas. It was her idea to use my new suit, shirt, etc. It was her idea to use our spare bed just as it was so ruining the duvet, pillows, sheet and covers. In fact all we did was cover the carpet so apart from trashing everything I had to clean all the walls and woodwork. In the picture you can see the before and after with my cross dress clothes being destroyed before she moved onto my suit.
I've often wondered things like 'how are they going to clean that up?' but aside from that, I prefer the 'natural room' look to plastic tarps. I've also noticed a few extreme messes where it would truly take a crew of workers to put the room back together again. This nacho-cheese chair is an example.
I think there's always been an attraction for me to the anarchic destructiveness of slapstick. The police car pile ups at the end of the Blues Brothers are almost a pie fight with cars. So incredibly decadent and wasteful.
In my own scenes this has probably lead me to develop my own line in collateral damage by having rugs and mirrors and tapestries etc in the firing line.

If its a real hollywood movie (even a cheap one), they don't.The budget is big enough to just throw out the set. In fact, they may even have 2 of everything, just in case.
I should have said the movie of our messing is available in five parts at http://www.wtanmse.co.uk/avideo.html I worked in tv and a little film and I can testify to the fact that lots of items are bought even if only one is needed so if something has to be trashed and they need a retake then they have what is needed. I once saw something lovely (only because I love ripping clothes) on a well known tv series. The actresses clothes were meant to be destroyed by a jealous partner so instead of the actual designer clothes which had cost thousands they bought a load of clothes that looked the same but cost a fraction of the price. However the actress put on a fairly unconvincing show of being distressed as the clothes were destroyed so the director said to use the real clothes in the retake. Now the actress was hoping to take all the clothes home at the end of the shoot so as the real clothes were destroyed she gave a superb performance!
I remember reading about a James Bond movie where they trashed an expensive sports car (Aston Martin I think). The producer said that they got the shot they needed in the first take but, seeing as they had a spare car, they did a second take anyway and trashed the second car too.
As I read it I loved the thought of them being so utterly wasteful, I thought about how many years salary that would be for me.
When I hear about things like this, especially for films and TV, I often see if I can find interviews with cast or crew, or backstage footage, to find out if its really true that people do this kind of thing.
As I have said before the thought of messing up things other than clothes has always held a fascination. I have already squirted black paint over my car and experimented with paint inside the car but last summer I thought of something else. I had just spent some time cleaning the car and my wife asked why I bothered as it would soon get dirty again. I then put together a little video and sent it to her. It suggested she should take me out in the countryside and dare me to get muddy and then get back in the car with no preparation at all. Now she didn't take me up on the offer but I am still thinking about it. I know I must be mad but maybe we all are! The top two photos are of my car and the bottom two are suggestions.
See the point, not really with cars, but with film sets, yes. I like fight sequences where break away chairs and tables etc get smashed up. I also like girls getting their clothes ripped and trashed.
This I think, lends itself to slapstick pie sessions, completely destroying a set, agree not keen on the plastic sheeting look
I think it is the dare side of it I like. I actually got dared to pour paint my car and did so. Also put a small scratch on it. I know that getting it muddy is ridiculous but being dared to do it is the turn on I suppose. Same as ruining clothes or furniture or technology. The idea is the turn on.
To me, it is the idea of going to some trouble over making the set, and the girl(s) looking good. When I used to see Sally from the escort agency for messy sessions I would spend about a week on and off getting her outfit from various places, like Primark or wherever, making sure she was dressed to my exact specifications.
When she was dressed up in the outfit I had carefully selected, knowing that it was going to be totally destroyed turned me on.
I agree. A few times now I have played with a bit of mess in our lounge where I would be shot if anything got dirty. My ultimate desire is to have a whole house, beautifully decorated and furnished, along with a girl who wears only the best quality clothes with all the accessories. Then we would have fun trashing every outfit and every room with the messiest things you can think of. until then I have to be satisfied with what I can do. That is white paint in the picture and there are no dustsheets!
yall remember candys video where she is sitting at her computer desk and just trashes the computer, the desk the chair and everything?? i cant find a pic at the moment but i think that is something similar to these kind of scenes..... i remember seeing it thinking "oh my god, she trashed that whole pc!! the monitor and everything! the chair, herself, the floor! holy shit!!" and it was a really cool scene!! and was done and promoted right here on the umd! that was a memorable one!!
someone post a pic if you got it!! that one was very cool. the moomins do a really good job of this as well with their sets, im guessing everything can be hosed down which is why.....omg....i would KILLLLLLLL to go to the uk. so many awesome producers with so much stuff to get trashed in/on, whatever!! here in the states, wam is SO MUCH MORE taboo. idk, maybe its just where i live. kentucky is known for a lot of shit. not much for wamming. lol
