NO ONE HAS EVER WON 10 Matches in a Grand Slam EVER! until Emma Raducanu
A qualifier has never won a Grand Slam title until Emma Raducanu
Congrats!
Not only that, but she didn't lose a set all the way through from qualifiers to final - all straight sets victories.
Agreed. I always assumed that Becker winning Wimbledon at 17 was the single most amazing thing possible in tennis, but Emma may just have outdone him. Incredible.
Speaking as a Brit, I'm so proud of this fantastic young lady. She's a breath of fresh air in what can be quite an intense sport. I also believe it shows the great side of this nation that we've embraced this Romanian / Chinese immigrant as a British athlete. I think she'll go on to multiple grand slam titles personally. The key to sporting success is always to love what you do, and she clearly does.
I absolutely agree with all the positive comments.
And add, that Emma Raducanu has shown great qualities of resilience, especially in the way she has overcome her experience in the 4th round at this year's Wimbledon. She has come back stronger.
The pressure on her at Wimbledon next year will be even greater, let's give her a little bit of space and not expect further successes every time.
