If you haven't caught episode 1 yet, check it out. These are comic strips featuring Emi, a plastic female wammer, set in a comic-strip format. There was a bit of a learning curve at first, with me wanting these photos to look real, but I think the comic strip idea will work better.
If you saw the post about Emi and Tina going to the bar to play in the pool of corn syrup, this is the same story, but set in comic book format. (and possibly with an extra frame or two thrown in)
If you already saw the original non-comic style post, my apologies, but I think you'll still enjoy this as it's a very fun format.
Comments are always appreciated, as these take a lot of work.
The comic strip format is a great idea. The "caption balloons" are very inventive. I have to figure out how to make those on my photos as well. It will probably (once again) take some trial and error. I have been putting the caption dialogue (as well as "sound effects", almost like the Batman TV show) down in the "comment" boxes, but I definitely see that "caption balloons" are much better.
You certainly have had a flurry of activity. I've barely been able to keep up. I like it all and appreciate all the work you put into it.
I've started to work on a new photoset myself with the Diminutive Divas. This photoset has them wearing formal wear. The idea of caption balloons has got me thinking, however. We'll see what develops.
As for the idea in a previous post of a BIG GIANT shaving cream pie, believe it or not, "I" was thinking the same thing, as a "parody" of all of the shaving cream filled kiddie pools that we have seen other producers use on this forum. I was planning on having my Diminutive Divas wearing swimsuits and "wrestling" around in a normal sized pie tin filled with shaving cream. There's no reason, of course, for "both" of us to not do a similar project.
As I said, here's a teaser with the formal gowns. We'll see what happens.
Nicely done, and these photos are not blurry. I have been trying to work around the problem of size. For example, a drip of water on a 'mini's body will look to be half an inch around, and shaving cream is too thick compared to a real human. You can lose a doll in shaving cream, and there is too much coverage to the point where that 'blob' is really a doll, but we can't see anything at all, other than the foam. The solution is to try and water it down, but then it loses it's 'peaks' and becomes too flat looking. Obviously some things, such as a raisin, would look huge, more like a shriveled pumpkin. So I'm learning more about what looks 'real' on a doll, as my goal, like yours, is to create a little messy fantasy world, without the expense of hiring models, buying tons of supplies and the huge clean-ups.
I googled 'speech balloons' or something like that, and found what I needed, though I have to resize and point the tail towards the person speaking. Best of all, I found a Photoshop effect to make it look like a comic book, with all the little ink dots.
So keep up the good work, and one of us will probably do a pie shoot with a real pie. I've shot a lot lately, and probably won't be shooting anything new until I edit what's already done. Plus, I've been spending WAY too much time with this over the past week.
