Hey guys and gals. I have created a new group for gameshows, and I am moving a lot of related posts there. Feel free to go there for the latest and greatest, and let me know if anybody wants to be a mod of that group.

What's the problem you're trying to solve by moving them there?

Why not have a separate forum for producer advertisement so that we don't need to have them get in the way of seeing non-commercial posts?

What about links to YouTube videos? Shouldn't they have their own page?

How about explicit content? Maybe I don't like seeing dicks in posts. Shouldn't they have their own page?

Once you move something off the main forum, people will just ignore it from then on. I don't understand what the purpose is besides segregating one sort of post from another. It's not like anyone ever uses any of the other forum pages besides messy (and off-topic).

If your implication is that I've moderated these messages because they don't "belong" in the messy forum, that wasn't the intent! With the Groups, I'm trying to give a little more recognition and organization to some of the more popular themes we see here, and give them a more proper home and make them easier to find. UMD members will be in control of the groups. There's is no actual requirement for such posts to be made there instead of the main forums. I just moved the existing messages to start it off because the group was just created.

I won't separate the non-commercial posts because they are a huge part in paying for the site and in supporting other wam producers, who also make this site happen. You can't have a free forum without advertisements. But you do have the site-wide gender filter to prevent dick pics, plus the power to block every single person whose posts you don't want to see.

Okay, that clears things up a bit. Since you moved the threads to that page, I thought you were mandating that all future gameshow-related posts go there (or else you'd move them manually).

Personally, I really REALLY appreciate the move..... EEG has gotten boring and there's more often than not TOO manyyyy posts of that particular show... so personally, I like that I can actually ignore them now instead of just sifting past them.... AND I also have been leaning more towards the sexual content that you won't find on a TV show which I totally understand the appeal of that context but it just isn't my thing anymore.... so I think it's good to have different tabs for different things.. like when you go to any website different things are on different pages and it makes things a lot less complicated to find the Ferrari when it has its own area instead of trying to find that one Ferrari amongst the 659 BMW's, 982 Mercedes, 1,200 Hyundais and, 45 Rolls-Royces...

I feel like this change is somewhat similar to the gender tags..... yes, I recognize was a total bitch about that change but..... now that it has been integrated I appreciate the tags more than anything because now I can see what I want to see and not have to just keep swimming when a figurative turd floats by in the pool.... that's exactly how I feel about the EEG posts being moved to a separate forum... all the turds can swim freely in any pool they want.

Can see the logic in that - we did try and suggest that all EEG posts go in one thread, but that worked for about three days then got ignored, so...

If posts continue to be made here, will you be moving them there too?
