In the back of my mind I remember seeing a film with a dunk tank in and I can't remember its name. I think it was a Sunday afternoon type film when I saw it in the UK about 20-30 years ago. I have done a Google search but I wasn't entirely sure what questions to ask therefore I didn't spot it.
So if any one knows it from the clues below, I am hoping all the clues are relevant to this one film.
- I think the film may have been B&W but possibly an early colour. - The Dunk Tank was in a carnival scene in America. - It was a woman who I think had to do an extra shift as someone else was cold - The operator of the dunk tank was stood on a button/switch that wouldn't allow the dunk to happen even if the ball had hit dead centre on the target. - When I think the operator got upset with something that was said the woman was dunked. - I think the 'hero' of the film may have come to take the dunkee away.
I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Sounds like Elvis Presley's movie "Roustabout". A loudmouth Baseball player comes up to the dunk tank and keeps repeatedly dunking the girl over and over again. The guy running the booth (her dad) finally decides to give her a break and steps on the button to keep her from being dunked. The guy hits the target again, then gets mad and starts pitching a fit when she doesnt fall, so Elvis, who is attracted to the dunkee, gets in a fight with him.
I think you have hit the proverbial nail on the head.
I remembered the black hair, of the actor but had absolutely no recollection that it was Elvis! I think it was a very influential scene I saw in my teenage years! As I still like watching dunk tanks now! And its on my to do list to be in one!
