I use DuckDuckGo for all of my WAM browsing and I've gotten to the point where I have all of my favorite stuff bookmarked for easy access. This includes:
- the UMD forum (obv)
- Yahoo Mail for discussing customs
- the Vidowns for my favorite producers so I can check every couple of days and see if they've put up anything new
- and this isn't wam but a fundie snark forum because bookmarking means I stay logged in
Yeah totally. This place and like you the vidowns of the faves. The bookmark is just the initials of the content producer so at least it isn't obvious to anyone else who might see them.
No. I use umd to find everything I need, and it is like a source of bookmarks. I use memorization to navigate, and search.
I browse in Brave browser which I dedicate to just wam. Using a separate dedicated browser is a good idea and I highly recommend.
Actually I do have just a few bookmarks:
* A few threads with useful info. * Messy supply wish list items.
I find that umd works well to keep track of follows - https://umd.net/loves/ - and loves - https://umd.net/loves/loves/1 - so you can use follows and loves as bookmarks to remember your favorite content here.
I like Duck Duck Go too. It probably isn't perfect but it makes me feel safer.
As for bookmarks, I'm weird! My day job means I'm an expert typist. I just remember where my favorite things are and type the URL all the time.
This site is just "umd.net", which is easy.
But I also visit "quicksandfans.com", "quicksandland.com", "mudpuddlevisuals.com" and its sister site "clubmpv.com". The names of these places must be marked "important" in my brain because they just stay in my mind forever even if I don't visit all the time.
Bookmarks are for things I want to keep but am likely to forget because I don't go there much.
What I want to know, though, is what happened to my browser after I updated Windows. It throws "umd.net" up as my home page but in a browser I don't use at all and as being NOT logged in. I'm forever closing "umd.net" so that I can go back into "umd.net" by my preferred route.
