My wife works at a drug store, and they had 20 at opening today. But, I made the decision to hold off because we have trips planned for this fall and next. We're doing Graceland next year. So, we've had to put a padlock on spending.
I was tempted. While other systems have better graphics, I have always loved my various Nintendo consoles for the sheer enjoyment and fun.
Problem is, this is just an upgrade to the Switch one, and nothing really new. The games are now £70 and only Mario Kart appeals at the moment, and that's not enough for a £400 machine. I will go back to my 'Skip a generation' routine unless they bring out something magnificent.
I rarely play my switch as it is so I'm not worried as long as I can keep playing all the online old games too. Nothing says "Good use of 4K resolution" like Starfox 64 on a 60" Smart TV.
I did not get one because I do not play the one I have all that much anymore. I waited until after it was found out how to jailbreak it and then got one that could do it. I jailbroke mine and have the separate partitions etc. Played with it a lot for about a year. Then just stopped playing it for one reason or another. Then I got an Ally. I play it a lot at night and prefer it to the switch. I haven't looked into an emulator for the switch to use on the Rog. But so far, it has played everything I have wanted. It will be a hard sell for me to buy another handheld unit.
I don't think there's much for games I'd really be interested in...if they bust out a bunch of new Mega Man games that are switch exclusives, I might be down to get one though.
