I went to see the new Cruella film at the cinema - my first cinema visit since BC (Before Covid), and it's absolutely brilliant. Amazing costumes, all of which would be epic in WAM scenes - a producer could build a complete career just working through and WAMming all the outfits Cruella and her nemesis, The Baroness, wear in the film.
WAM-wise, there is some interest, Cruella, disguised as Estella, gets quite grubby while dressed as a Liberty shop assistant in a nylon uniform dress, and while not really WAM as most of us think of it, those who enjoy seeing someone quite dishevelled and a bit stained will enjoy this section. Later on, there is a full blown but very brief wetlook scene where Cruella drops into the sea by parachute and we get a very clear shot of her going in, feet first, in trousers. There's no aftermath and it is a "blink and you'll miss it" event, but still cool to see. There is also at one point an entire and very punk-coture fashion show in a fountain, but while the performers almost certainly got wet shooting it, you don't actually see any wetness on screen. It's still an awesome scene in the film.
I've attached a couple of photos of Cruella in her dishevelled uniform dress, plus a few other shots and looks from the film, it's an absolute tour-de-force in fashion cinema, there are stunning looks all through the trailers too.
Also, clarification on "Family Audience" material (having discussed it with MM in the moderstors forum): There is no ban on family audience material. There is a strict ban on anything featuring children, or specifically made for a child audience, meaning kids TV shows are out, as are Certificate Uc films, or films featuring kids (so Home Alone is out, even if adults get messy, as the films feature a child as the main star). But general family entertainment, as long as child-free, is fine - after all that's what the Three Stooges and Laurel & Hardy were. As for Cruella, it's a certificate 12a, which is the same certificate as the last two James Bond movies, Skyfall and Spectre. Most definitely not a kids movie.
Well, that's a relief because, as you said, 90% of cinema today is aiming to family audiences, so if umd rules don't consider that we will never have a "movie wam alert" post again.

I've been noticing confusion on the subject for a while now, so put a post in the mod forum asking MM to clarify it and he has done so. Anything featuring, or made speciffically for, kids, is a hard no. And that does mean that even if it's adults being slimed, Saturday morning kids TV shows are out - because an adult fetish site like this one should not be sending traffic to kids entertainment sites or clips. Clips, pics, and discussion of general family entertainment films (as long as no kids featured or in the clips/pics) are fine.

Agreed, I expected to enjoy it but it was absolutely brilliant, will be watching that again at home when it gets generally released to Disney+ without the premium, which I guess will happen next year.
Ah thanks for the clarification for a part-time visitor who probably missed that post. I noticed a reduction in mainstream WAM/alert type posts, but didn't make the connection to a restriction on what's allowable vs. what's on-air.
criticizes SO MANY OUTFITS in this movie. I have not seen the movie, but I believe The Critical Drinker about this point, and why it may ruin the movie for me.
Will wait for it to come for free at my local library before watching.
