Probably, I gave it up a long time ago. Even our morning show people "Preston & Steve" who RULED the airways of the early 2000s are really just kinda cringe worthy now.
Then there's the music...which is also the SAME crap regurgitated over and over, doesn't matter what genre. You're going to get the same 1% of it repeatedly.
I could never listen to commercial radio. It's always been CD's in my car, and then when I upgraded to a new vehicle and was able to plug in my iPod, that's all I've been listening to. I don't understand why anyone would listen to the radio, like Potatoman-J said, it's the same crap over and over again. A block of 5 or so songs that you've heard 7 million times followed by a block of 5 or so obnoxious commercials, also a plug for the radio station in case you're a dumbass and don't know what station you tuned into...then the DJ has to tell you some stuff before they proceed to play another batch of shit.

All accurate. I will play devil's advocate though and say one WONDERFUL thing about at least one station in town. There is a DJ who has been at this Philly rock station, WMMR since before I was born.
Pierre Robert (pronounced ro-bear) is more than your typical DJ. He's a gentleman and loved by most of the city. An extremely positive personality, a kindly hippie, and a courteous and loving citizen. Due to his LONG ASS tenure and considerable sway, he actually has a segment where he goes into an old studio and plays a set on old vinyl. And it's not stuff you normally hear, and it's not always old stuff either, it's just whatever he wants to play.
If ever I do turn the thing on, it's generally only when he's on, and more because I care about hearing his voice and knowing he's doing well than the music.
I used to have the clock radio in my bedroom tuned to a commercial pop station. It was mostly mindless junk with the odd decent record thrown in, but then one day I got in the van to drive to my office and found myself singing the "we buy any car" ad jingle. Arrghhh, noooooo!
That evening I re-tuned it to Classic FM and have never looked back. Proper classical music plus the more symphonic film soundtrack music, like Star Wars or Harry Potter, very few ads and those that are played required to be caln, non-jarring and no louder than the music. Little wonder it's one of the fastest growing commercial stations with an ever growing listener base.

I haven't had a working radio tuner in my house in probably 20 years. Went the "home theater" route with discrete power amps, mixers, and signal processing a long time ago.
I do have a big pile of vacuum tube table radios though. I'm working on converting them to low power guitar amps and bluetooth extension speakers.

Go back to the summer of 1992 I think, I had saved a 100 volt line amplifier and valve radio set from the skip at my school. This thing had a "magic eye" valve to give indication of the signal strength which was pretty cool looking.....anyway, the first evening I got it all working was actually the first night of classic radio in the uk. I accidentally tuned in and I stayed tuned in for the night. Ever since then my music taste has been so varied from poor old Julius fucik and his army march which is now associated with circuses and the bonzo dog doo dah band!
