I'm looking at doing some slime or gunge shoots and would like to know the best one to use and most cost-effective I want to use quite a bit but I can oversee be quite expensive can anyone recommend anything Ideally we would like quite thick gunge different colours and quite stretchy does exist I've been looking on eBay but there is so many different types on there I just don't know what ones to get so any recommendations will be greatly received
The pictures attached is the sort consistency I'm looking at If possible I'm looking to fit a Paul or bath maybe more with extra buckets on top I think that would be quite expensive can anyone recommend anything else like this
Well, this is about a teaspoon of xanthan gum from messysupplies.com not quite fully dissolved in a teacup. It's about the cheapest stuff they have. This is the same stuff that gives light mayo the same consistency as regular mayo. You'll definitely want a power drill with a paint mixer attachment to mix it up in large quantities, and it's probably a good idea to mix it a bit thicker than you actually want it, then add some hot water to warm it up (otherwise it will be cold by the time it's mixed).
This is the stuff we use, supplied by Dunk Tank Dave, very easy to mix and a fantastic constituency when mixed, you mix it just with warm water, no faffing about making pastes, just B&Q one quid bucket full of hot water, add powder and mix with drill attachment. £3.30-odd a bucket, quick and easy.

I did have a look at his stuff but was looking for something a little thicker is this something else I can add to thicken it up so as I still get the maximum amount out of the pack supplied

I think you can get thicker versions without having to add anything, we prefer the pourable ones as we do lots of clothes filling, drop Dave a line and he should be able to help you out. I've always found his service to be superb.
We've got uncoloured Xanthan at £7.99 per KG which should be enough for around 70 litres 7 - 10 buckets. It's not as easy to mix as HEC but with a blender or mixer its fine.
