WSM celebrates 41 years of continuous trading We are the oldest WAM business in the world!
Birthday Comment Well at least we are still here! It has been a torrid year with gradually decreasing sales. I suppose it was always going to be that way as we had changed after 12 years of weekly website updates (starting 2010 and ending 2021), to now update fortnightly in 2022.
How and when did WSM Productions commence? It started under the name of WET SHOTS just selling slide sets. John Swindail from Stoke-on-Trent and Mike Ellison entered into a partnership from 1st October 1981. The first retail sale of £63.03 was banked 3rd December 1981 at Barclays Bank, 36 Town Road, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. And did the world embrace this new concept of slide images? With sales of £6,170 to 30th September 1982 in a world without any internetI would say they did! So our birth date is 3rd December 1981. By 1984 we had changed our name to WSM Productions. And now we have reached 41 continuous years of trading for WSM Productions. And John Swindail.he is still about and we exchange emails.
Our first movie started filming 18th August 1985. The result was the first commercially produced WAM video. This was 'The Hopeful Starlet'which is still available in the 'Downloads Online Store' under 'Digital Download VINTAGE FILMS (Vintage Film 1). This is how the WAM movie business commenced.
What next? We are in the process of offering more options with our WSM monthly Subscriptions. Hopefully this should be a reality at our next update on 17th December. We are also working to improve our quality image sets. Our FREE sample image shots for each movie are well hidden. So we will make it easier to access them and link them with their movies. The number of movies posted to our UMD Store has been growing quickly. One year ago we reported 123 movies posted. This has now grown to 156 movies. Messmaster has hugely improved his images presentation. The year 2023 should see a much closer liason between WSM and UMD.
WSM have been on a long journey. This has been a crusade to spread the word about WSM, now commonly termed WAM. So how many MOVIES appear on the WSM website? There are 358 movies (being 167 SD and 191 HD) on our Subscription site. Add on 96 XXX movies available by paid download only. Add on 28 new movies available only as paid downloads during their first two years of publication Add 9 Vintage Films which are offered as 50 chargeable Download Streams (see Digital Download VINTAGE FILMS. So an overall total of 491 movies. So reaching the big 500 should occur in 2023 even at the rate of one new movie each 4 weeks. But you can all do something to bring that target closer to Easter than the summer!

A heartfelt congratulations on 41 years, I doff my hat to you. A true Legend. So many fantastic sets and videos. You are one of the few ground breakers in the WAM community.
Other than custom videos I have received, Natalie in Food 5 is still in my top 3 WAM videos of all time. Congrats on your longevity but it's not surprising considering the quality of work produced.
