Hi all! I think I'm posting this in the right place?
I have watched numerous videos along the line of using cake mix/batter! Im really tempted to use as my first choice to get messy with ever along with my GF! Here lies the problem, I've never used it! I don't know how to bake so I've never made cake batter from scratch!
What do I do?!?!?! I have read google and it seems straight forward, can I mess this up
I've attached pictures courteous Babaslimes.com and Mudbunny of the kinda cake mix I want to make, As they are amazing content The volume of messy would be amazing!
I buy the cheapest chocolate cake mix from the supermarket, then make it up with as much water as it says on the packet. No need to worry about adding eggs to the mix (though you can, of course, add them to your girlfriend for extra fun ). You can clearly add a little more or less water to vary the consistency if you want. One packet makes about 500ml of mixture. You might find you need less than you think. Two litres of most things is enough to fairly thoroughly cover a naked human, though you'll obviously need more if you start off clothed.
The cake mix will need oatmeal if you would like it reliably lumpy
A basic recipe is three boxes cake mix + two tubes of oatmeal + ample water + coloring + good mixing in a 5 gallon bucket
Here is a "deluxe" full recipe for lumpy splaty green slime, swapping cake mix for cream of wheat
Two 42 oz tubs of oatmeal (instant or olde fashioned) Five 28 oz boxes of cream of wheat (regular boxes, NOT the boxes that contain separate packets) Green food coloring (I buy the giant bottles from Amazon) Water (preferably hot)
Pour all the oats into the bucket, fill bucket about half way up with water, or just enough for them to all float off the bottom of the bucket. Add green food coloring until color is where you want it. Wait about 1-2 hrs for the oats to soften, so they don't clog drains later. I recommend hottest possible water as it's going to get cold sitting. Then add all the cream of wheat boxes, then add more hot water until there's only about 1-2 inches of room left at the top of the bucket. Add more coloring if necessary. MIX WELL. I usually just stick my entire arm in the bucket and mix by hand, there's usually a ton of clumps that you won't be able to mix any other way. Important: mix again JUST before pouring. The bucket will end up being very heavy, so consider pouring half of it into another bucket for safety, if you're not up to the task of properly supporting the weight while pouring.
So if you don't mix all the little balls out it will create sticky lumps of flour that will not come out of hair We use oatmeal and then add the cake mix into the pot and store as we are cooking oatmeal We add tons of cooking cool to help prevent those little balls had them in hair and spent hour washing and using conditioner. Thought I'd have to shave head.
I've added marshmallow fluff to thicken it as well, and have also added peanut butter or yams, sweet potatoes or pumpkin pie filling for extra mushiness I once added pumpkin guts left over from carving contest Oh and used nibs or chocolate chips for extra clumpiness
And have used cake icing or matcha tea powder for coloring / thickness or clumpyness
Have lots of albums of wife getting it bad/ good if u wanna check it out I sometimes write descriptions of slime on some of the pics
(The there is the savory slime but that took years of build up for her, all thought now she prefers it for some reason? It's so gross but if she lets me I won't say no!)
warning!! cake flour is totally hair safe (once mixed), but god help you if you use general purpose or heaven forbid bread/high gluten flour .. that is so freaking hard to get out of hair omg
No need to make it from scratch! Buy the cheapest brand (Kroger brand works very nicely) - most contain lots of sugar, so cleanup is easy because of the lack of pure flour base. I open a pack into a large plastic bowl, then add hot water slowly while stirring. I like the hot water as it will cool anyway and thus be more comfortable on your skin. If you add the water slowly, you can adjust the batter consistency easily, either fairly thick or more runny. If you accidentally make the first batch too runny, just pour in another pack of mix and stir (and of course now you have more to play with). No need to add eggs, oil, or anything else. Can usually last for a second day on the kitchen counter, but it might also get runnier.
Use a children's poster paint for colouring (water based/tempura paint), its fully non-toxic and designed to be washable- so it's much much less likely to stain.
Food colourings - depending on what ones you use - can stain skin and hair as well as clothes/furnishings.
Sounds like the majority of people do prefer packet cake mix to making it yourself, so I will give that a try! Trying to find a big bulk pack of cake mix to see if it would be easier than having lots of small packets!
