I recently acquired a 3 gallon container of chocolate buttercream that was to be thrown out. I put it in my freezer in hopes of thawing and using later. Anyone have any experience with buttercream? I remember the YouTuber Buttercream Brittany and was going to reach out to her, but I had no way of contacting her. Any advice would be great.
I've not tried straight buttercream as pies but it mixes well with coolwhip. If you're trying to just coat yourself in buttercream, it spreads really nice once it's warmed up with your body temp but it takes a second to actually stick. I've not tried warming it up a bit first but you probably don't want it fully melted although that could be interesting if it was!
Hi. You're talking about buttercream frosting, right? I've seen several that have covered themselves with it. Chloe, if you remember Brattyshortcakes did it once. I have, however, used canned RTS chocolate frosting. I did not melt it. What I did was add water to it. Ask Bratty. I once did a short film for her, to figure out the right proportions and I found that by adding 1/3 cup of water to two 16-ounce cans of frosting made it virtually pourable. it was still thick and creamy and you can take a big handful to smear in someone's face, but can also pour it over there head.
So you can take as much of that buttercream as you want and start adding a little water to it until you have the right consistency.
I've used a tub of black buttercream (same kind as Bratty and Chloe used) straight from the tub onto my body.
As Chloe said, as it warms up, it spreads nicely. Sometimes it can "stick" to itself (i.e. any area that causes creases - elbows, knees, etc) and reveal cleaner skin/area.
As long as you have hot water, it should clean up pretty easy/quick. Depending on the color of the buttercream, it may stain your skin. The black buttercream is highly pigmented dark blue so it stained any dry skin/callouses as well as any light colored clothing.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions.
What brand is it? Usually with commercial buttercream you have whipped and unwhipped. Whipped is fluffier, but you should be able to whip unwhipped if you want to achieve that fluffiness.
