We've had a some issues over the years with Messy Jessy, Ariel, MostWam, and now Chantelle.

Does this concern anyone else that heavyweight community content creators and contributors are hit scandal?

This affects our community and content.

I've got no suggestion on what to do about this, interested in everyone else's thoughts?

I don't think Jayce should be on the list. The scandal was not because of her. She was a bigger victim in what happened than anyone. The issue was Ariel.

Your list is also a little small. You are missing all the custom and run producers. They are also very different situations from each other. Some similarities in some cases but not exactly the same. Honestly, the small number of issues is something that should be seen as a positive. I mean in 25 years you have maybe a dozen. That is relatively small.

All that you can do is hope that people are decent human beings and look at the number of producers that have had issues VS those that have not as the true minority it is.

Careful with the Angelfan one. While they probably did what is suspected, no victims have come forward. When the accusations were discussed by Angelfan they smartly did it in a chat that is not something that anyone can go back and read. Unfortunately there were no screenshots taken. There is plenty of evidence that suggests something probably happened. I did a lot of research on the situation and read every post I could find even from the old forum. The conclusion I came to is that unless models come forward, there is always the possibility to claim it was part of a custom and that the models knew what was happening at the time and gave an oscar worthy performance of being oblivious.

Yes and no. Yes because there really is no vetting process here for producing fetish content. As the Specialist has mentioned many times over, the bar of entry is exceptionally low. Got a phone and a willing model? Congratulations, you're a producer and I genuinely don't feel that makes someone a producer. Content creator? Maybe, sure. Producer? There is way more to it than that.

As for future SA occurrences? I feel that the models and reputable producers are going to be their own best weapon against it. Producers need to be more vehement against those who would use the producer title only to abuse it. There are some of us, sure but far too few to make a difference. We also need to make the modeling community more comfortable and aware that they can bring these concerns to us and we will actually believe them and act on it. Once that starts happening, I feel models won't be so hesitant to bring allegations against others to light. We have only seen a handful of SA instances come to light in this forum. I can only assure you that there are more.

On the other hand, no because I kinda see the writing on the wall where there has been an influx of chatter and a less of a chance with unscrupulous producers getting away with anything. Times are changing and because nothing is ever gone from the internet, we have access to information we may not readily see on here.

For instance; No one knew about Mostwam until a news article was brought to light by a vigilant member of this forum. Now he's history, and rightfully so. Now hopefully he will serve as an example for others that if you are going to abuse the trust of others and the models you work with, there is only one singular outcome: catastrophe

I understand your concern, but you can always report your concerns to Messmaster. He was immediately involved in the Chantelle thread and he's already changing policies and rewriting the ToS based on what happened. He will always respond to you as soon as he can. He's very friendly, very receptive and trustworthy. He's also got great moderators on this site that are also helping to make this a safe environment. As dalamar666 said it's a relatively small number of scandals.

In fetish and adult filming these are the kinds of things that are going to happen from time to time, unfortunately. The best we can do is communicate with each other and voice our concerns so we can confront these issues. We have to police ourselves and create the rules that we feel safe and respected by.

Also, you have the option on the threads and in the messages to report and block a person and this is a big help with problematic behavior.

Didn't Doodmon leave for some accusation about how he got models or was it just cause Anglefan impersonating him. I can't remember. Sorry if I am remembering wrong.

To be honest all of these incidents were very different from each other.

Messy Jessie was deliberate deception and impersonation, plus manipulation of UMD processes for gain.

Ariel was someone abruptly deciding to both leave the scene and trying to erase all their prior material - which was grossly unfair on others she'd worked with, esp Jayce. But very different to the MJ situation.

There's not much can be said about MW that hasn't already been said but it's good to know SA convictions are a permanent ban from here. Again, very different to the two above.

And while superficially the Chantelle issue does have some things in common with MJ, it very much does appear to have been more accident than a delibarete and calculating attempt to deceive people.

As others have mentioned, probably the worst issue in terms of affecting UMD people was the Chris business.

Any community with humans involved is going to run into stuff like this from time to time. All we can really do is keep our wits about us and be careful who we trust.

About the only suggestion I'd have from the Chantelle issue is that perhaps in future prospective new moderators should be required to speak to MM in video chat, over Skype or Zoom, to prove they are who the say they are?

I think that the Chantelle situation should absolutely change the way moderators are chosen. I am not sure what kind of process there is or what kind of vetting is done, but there needs to be something. I can also see a situation where moderators could use their power to bury a new content creator that would be a financial rival. That might not have happened yet, but neither did these situations until they did.

Bear in mind this site is MM's private property, there's no corporation or grand oversight committee or the Noble Splat Chamber of the Most High Lords of Splosh involved. MM has given various people various admin powers to help out around the site, entirely based on personal trust.


That's pretty much impossible. While we all have ability to do things like moving posts between forums or deleting stuff, everything any of us do is also flagged to MM, so it'd soon be pretty obvious if one of us was trying to manipulate things.

This is True but we kinda gotta be careful not to fall into complacency. We can't control the actions of the rogue few but we can certainly modify our response to certain behaviors to reduce the likelihood of it occurring OR ensure a swift response in the case we fall short on prevention.

Instances like the Chantelle bit are preventable, especially considering she was a Mod on this forum and MM has full say of the procedures of how and who can be onboarded as a Mod or Admin. A simple shift in policy is all that needs. It doesn't do much for regular users or even producers but it will at least help preserve the integrity of the forum by making sure those who have these privileges are the sole individuals using them.

For the others, it becomes trickier because now you are stuck between a decision of making policy changes that can either be too lax or too heavy handed and how can you possibly control the behaviors, attitudes and actions of individuals who, for all we know, are time zones away? You just can't. We can however dictate our behavior by being proactive of who we choose to do business with and responding quickly in cases a producer uses their position to harm their models. Mostwam was a painful lesson in that and one that is clearly still fresh in the minds of everyone on this forum. Now that they understand this at the leadership level, I hope they will now have protocols in place so the bullshit surrounding that whole ordeal doesn't occur again.

This is my only job and has been for 25 years. I've dedicated my life to this one project and it is the only one I have. Since it's only me, the only way it works is if the community can mostly police itself while I run the internals. So a peaceful site isn't just nice to have, it's an absolutely essential part of the overall model. The site doesn't pull in enough money to hire a staff, and I don't have time to micromanage every account, so I have to treat people like adults and hope they behave that way.


This doesn't answer how I'm supposed to control what people do behind their own keyboards. . She would have passed (and did pass) any onboarding test. I have no function that can detect if they eventually let somebody else log in using their computer or reply to a message as them, nor do I sit and read every interaction. Moderators are not employees where I do a background check or call for an interview. E.g. if somebody right now wants start a Group, I'll hook it up for them and the'll instantly be a moderator. While mods are indispensable here and have earned their own respect, I think most people have an incorrect idea of what their abilities are and what their connection to the site is.

Hence the "How do you control the behavior of someone time zones away? You can't" part. It's the internets. I've long understood that there come risks with it's use. A model can (and has) blow off a shoot. It doesn't stop me from working with them. I just learned to know what to look for. The rest is plain luck

I've dabbled with the idea of joining a SW trade group, because maybe it can help me learn some best practices and how to present myself in the most professional way possible.

But even they are aware that SW is rife with bad actors, and I'm not talking about people who read lines poorly. One trade group I looked over had a free video about red flags to look for so one can tell the difference between a producer who will treat a model like a working professional and a sleezy person who treats SW poorly.

So, one change that I've instituted is ensuring there is there are at least snacks and drinks available upon request.

I don't think our community is near the level where persons of ill intent are always coming out of the woodwork, but maybe we can copy off their homework to come up with proactive solutions to likely problems.

If you click on Forums and go to groups, there is a custom group that has some information there that is helpful for people getting customs. I know that it has been typed out ad nauseam on here protections people should take and they are absolutely ignored and people keep getting scammed. It really just comes down to common sense, which seems to elude a lot of people. I will tell you that nothing is too good to be true. There have been custom producers that have a decent track record of providing customs that have out of the blue started ditching people and turn tail and ran.
Basically, the main thing to do if you are a producer is don't be a dick. If you are a customer, suspect everyone and have a contract. For more information about the specific issues with various producers, there is also a search feature at the top of the forums where you can put in the name of the producer and then just look for the thread with the most comments. As for the FAQ on scandals, there is no dirt rag for you to go through and get the Cliffs notes and the juicy gossip. You will have to do the work the old fashion way and read it.

As someone who buys vids and just joined this site recently I'm too out of the loop. It doesn't surprise me that there are bad eggs out there, that's the norm with any place where money could be made. I'll spend some time scouring through old threads and see what I can learn so I can avoid buying from those are are shady.
