OnlyFans has been accused of conspiring to blacklist the social media accounts of adult performers working for rival websites, BBC News has learned.
Legal documents, previously unreported, claim OnlyFans directed an unidentified social media company to disable accounts of performers by placing their content on a terrorism database.
It is alleged that OnlyFans representatives paid bribes to the firm's employees to facilitate the practice. OnlyFans says it is aware of the legal claim and it has "no merit".
UK website OnlyFans - best known for hosting pornography - has grown hugely in recent years. It lets users share video clips and photos with subscribers in return for tips or a monthly fee.
Performers often use social media accounts - including Twitter and Instagram - to promote and link to adult websites showing their explicit content.

Is it bad this doesn't surprise me in the slightest? If it's proved true, I hope damages can be paid in someway to everyone affected, since I assume this affected both the companies' and individuals' income pretty badly.

Although we should be also concerned as to what we are getting with our anti terrorism laws. "Back to normal" is being used for the lifting of covid restrictions right now, but since the turn of the century we've been getting an increase of terrorism related restrictions, with no to little chance of being able to go back to normal on those, despite the fact that terrorism kills so few in many parts of the world.
Many of the restrictions were originally brought in as temporary measures.

Jesus...that was a read. Have to agree with Violet that isn't in the slightest surprising. Even if true, and convicted, the damage is done. How does one quantify the "what ifs" of what visibility the affected accounts would have had (at least this is what will be argued in the courts).

Trust me, I was born in the UK and I have lived in Australia, and Canada and now I am in Florida....and things are much more dystopian and authoritarian now in Canada, USA and Australia than the UK is right now. For example, Canada is now beating people in the streets who wish to peacefully demonstrate in support of the truckers and is now freezing their bank accounts. The Onlyfans / Facebook collusion is just the tip of a wider problem....e.g. The Canadian government colluded with the Crowdfunding platform Go Fund Me to seize all the funds raised by the peaceful Trucker demonstrations now. Freedom of Speech and the right to assemble has been squashed by the govenrnent officials in Canada, Australia and the USA....we have lost that right already. Trudeau in Canada actually praises the dictatorships in China and Russia.
