Stumbled on this randomly on Twitter, more out of curiosity than anything else anyone know the exact skit or context. Never really seen it mentioned before (know it says SNL in the corner like but nowt comes up from a quick search)
There used to be these Folgers Crystals (instant coffee) commercials that were set in a restaurant or home. The premise was a hidden camera where the announcer says something to the effect of "We've replaced Joe's regular cup of coffee with Folger's Crystals, let's see if he notices a difference..." Of course Joe LOVES the cup of coffee so you, dear consumer, should switch to Foger's Crystals too.
SNL did a parody of this where they tell Chris Farley that they switched his regular coffee to Folger's Crystals and he does a slow burn and then FLIPS THE F*CK OUT. Part of his flip out is throwing pies around. It is a pretty hilarious skit. But I like Chris Farley R.I.P.

CF could turn a simple premise into over-the-top comic gold like nobody in the business...his innate 'manic' comic persona was just immediately hilarious. He was one-of-a-kind.
