For the first time since I got high-speed internet with the only game in town - the monopoly Comcast - in September 2002, this January 2017 Comcast allowed me to unbundle cable tv from internet, meaning, I gave up the cable tv, which is much less important to me than internet, in order to save some money & give less money to this crooked monopoly, yet kept the internet.
So, for the first time since I moved from my old house in 1993, I have no more cable tv, and will have to return to good old-fashioned free antenna television. This time, the signals will be digital.
But, first, I have to install an antenna in my attic. I don't feel comfortable doing that: I am heavier than I've ever been, so I fear falling through the roof, and more arthritic.
Furthermore, there is no clear flat area in my attic. You have to climb over slanted wood struts to move about.
How does one change the direction of the antenna to obtain the various channels one wants?
While most of the channels I want (NBC, FOX) are clustered together in the Philadelphia area, it would be nice to have the option to point the antenna in the direction of other channels.
Does one have to go up in the attic & manually rotate the thing?
What have your experiences been with free antenna television?
