Anglefan's Amber. Nobody "sells" the outrage of being pied like this girl, IMO, IN ADDITION to being one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen pied...mainstream or elsewhere.
Obviously, this is just my opinion. But for me, the aftermath is very important, where I want to see shock, anger, outrage or humiliation. To me this is totally negated with a laughing reaction. It goes against the very idea of a beautiful, nicely dressed girl being "messed up." If they laugh or giggle or smile the pie appears not to bother them, and that ruins it for me.
I have commissioned quite a few customs over the years and I always write the reaction I want into the script and ask the producer if he or she has a model who can deliver it.
Some of the other models who were nominated for this WAM Oscar include SS's Toshia and the redhead (whose name I'm forgetting) and quite a few other of Rich's models; Anglefan's MJ; Liz Ashley, Kym, Cali Logan, Lane, most of the YCDTOTI models. EDITED TO ADD....most of the Wamerica models....These are just a few I'm thinking of now. Any other models who know how to sell the hit afterwards?
Haha thanks! I always thought she was a great model who genuinely enjoyed the shoots... She was also a heck of a self-pie-r too. [See pic below.] I'm actually still friends with her but her shoot days are over.
I know Shelly isn't everyone's cup of tea, but have you checked out some of her later clips? Especially ones where she's supposed to be angry/humiliated? Specifically, she did a custom in SS133 where she loses her clothes and then "trips" and falls into pies, eventually spitting out the contents with a REALLY angry look on her face. Good stuff! (I don't think she breaks character for the entire edit.)
Reaction is very important for me too, but rather than convincing outrage, I prefer to see obviously faux-outrage and mock-indignation, of the kind Bill Shipton used to get from his models, and that Wam-Princess and Julie Clown used to do. If it seems too real, like she's really upset, that's less enjoyable to me. I like my wam to exist in a heightened reality, a cartoon universe, a knowing performance that can break the fourth wall. You don't see that so much these days, but sometimes you get a bit from the House of Mess girls, Liz, Lane and numerous other Messygirls, and Messy Jessie when she's playing a role rather than just enjoying herself. Cali Logan does a lovely post-pie pout, as does Kym. Pied Pinups are GREAT too, Katie in particular giving some of my all-time favourite reactions. Some of Rich's model's get it right - I'm thinking Shelly, lately.
EDIT: Whoops. You were talking about Amber from Ken's vids, not mine. My bad. Carry on.
I've personally found that customers are split 50/50... Some want the model to look genuinely pissed, and some would rather know she's having a good time. Personally, when I can tell a model is hating the process, it kills the scene for me. That's why I tend to put some "jokey" moments into the Outtakes just so people know it's just acting. But yes, if you're gonna script something that requires the model to act pissed, you need to have her stay in character, at least during the edited bits.
Toshia's "best" acting in this regard was SS107... specifically the pratfall scene. She was in a foul mood the entire time, so there was very little acting involved. We basically scuttled the final bit where she was lying on the floor and pies "fell" on her because she made me stop after the first one. I wound up editing all that out. And... It sold like gangbusters. (You might be onto something...)
Well, as this was one of the prime reasons I set up my store, I am really hoping my models make the cut.
Maria does the 'genuinely outraged' better than anyone I have ever seen (yet gets the perfect balance so you don't think she's genuinely sad..I know what you mean Nick) but for the more classic faux outrage you'd have to go a heck of a long way to beat Cherry (so underrated in the wam world imho, possibly because she only shoots fully clothed), Jessie & Kitten
Anglefans Amber was, imho, a total legend, & it is such a shame she retired. I still hope there are more 2 or 3 girl scenes with her. She is my fave non-SS model for reactions. Shelly seems really good too.
Robby, I agree. I tend to err on the side of letting the models act naturally, so everyone has unique reactions... BUT most of them aren't gonna have that specific "shocked, humiliated" look every time.
But the flipside is, I absolutely know when a model is being "coached" and it tends to bug me. Like, when 80% of the models from one producer lick their lips even though they're licking shaving cream every time? That's clearly coaching.
There's certain things I try to encourage (don't wipe right away, don't throw your head forward) and most get that. But, ya know... A few models can open their eyes without wiping (which I love), but most can't. I'm not gonna force them. If a model is cute and sweet and can't really pull off "pissed," then why force her? Steer the scripts towards something more in her wheelhouse.
I really love your style, but sadly your vids don't match all my necessary criteria, and you know how maddeningly specific this fetish of ours can be!
Thanks Nick. I appreciate the kind words. No producer can be all things to all people but I am glad you like the style anyway.
I do agree with Rich...you can't really coach this..the models who are good at acting will be able to get it and run with it. Those who aren't will either look fake or just not be able to do it. I always watch video of a model before hiring, as if they can't act I'm not interested.

Rich I never approached you about a custom because (a) I'm not sure if you even do them and (b) you have so many vids that came through with what I was looking for without even asking for it.

Honestly the only model I was ever comfortable with for customs was Shelly, because she was: 1) local 2) wanted to shoot often 3) had a reasonable rate, and 4) could pull off 99% of what custom folks wanted.
Lots of people ask about some of my other models for customs, but truth be told... If I only shoot with a model once every 18 months or so, I probably won't do customs during that one shoot. Same thing if there's no real guarantee I can get someone back. And then there's a model like Ginger, who is reasonably available but can't really be "directed."
I've discovered that a successful custom is usually one that matches what the buyer imagined in his head. So I don't feel right taking $ for customs unless I'm reasonably certain I can achieve something close to that. Shelly was fearless... Within her comfort level, she would give 100% in a way few models I've worked with ever have. So that was the difference.
I need to offer some kind of "sponsorship" especially for those who usually like what I produce already. It would just be a way of offsetting the costs of a shoot up front and basically help to ensure I could bring back models whose rates have gone up. Sponsor, say, Carrie's next shoot and you'd get all the footage in advance. But I know that's a tougher sell than paying money to see your particular vision realized....
Sometimes, the best reaction one can hope for is the stunned-with-mouth-wide-open reaction...Sometimes a little coaching goes a long way (and delivers a bigger reaction than planned for, as with Tabitha's first pie hit)...Then there was Tamara Z who enjoyed being pieing too much to pull off the faux outrage....But sometimes, it's the unique/unexpected response:.I remember one producer's model (a curly-haired blond) getting thoroughly plastered and all she could do was say "wow"...it was a perfect reaction (for her, for the hit, and in general)...unexpectedly appealing...here's the gif:

Thanks so much for the gif wamajama. wow indeed.
Don't suppose you have a gif of Tabitha's first hit do you?? You have built it up nicely
Well, I happen to have that Gif, here you go! Enjoy!!
Great gif, Mr_Pies!
Back when I first got on the net, I saw pics of Tabitha, clean & getting creamed. I always thought she was very cute and very hot! And I loved her beautiful hair! A year or so ago, I was finally able to get that vid. It. Did. Not. Disappoint.!! Tabitha looked amazing and the pies were fabulous and ruthlessly ( ) thrown in her beautiful face! :lovestruck:
For everyone who enjoys the gif, you'll LOVE the vid!
Well, that was unexpected (seeing the GIF of Tabitha)...normally, I would not approve, but, wtf, it's the Internet (but please, no more GIFs of Tabitha's video)...too bad gifs don't come with AUDIO...as Tabitha's reaction is all the more sexy when we hear her gasp in humiliated shock...I remember her asking me "How should I react?" (as she had never been pied before) and I simply told her to just react however she felt like naturally...but, methinks she was a frustrated actress at heart because her reaction was way more than I had hoped for...
Note; the first pie skimmed the top of her hair (i was nervous and missed)...I think it's in the out takes)...so, I scooped up all the pie filling and crust parts back in the tin and tried again...second time was the charm!
Oh, and my bad: the girl in the first gif I posted has straight-ish blond hair, not curly...and I do not know who did this (Anglefan?)
And no, I no longer produce videos (at least those for commercial sale )
