Where did the image come from, any corroborating URLs or other informtion?
If it's from a TV guide presumably it references a specific show or movie, which one?
Looking at the cook's right hand, I think the "6th finger" is in fact some extra cake filling on her hand, but at a glance it does look like she has too many fingers.
However looking at the mess pattern on the clothes of woman seated in the cake, it looks very much like an AI image as the splatter pattern is entirely wrong for what appears to have happened - if she'd just been pushed into, or even willingly sat into, that cake, there would be no or minimal splashing on her top and jacket front, only her skirt and the back of her jacket where it's in the cake would be messy. It's also a very high-res image for something from the 80s, plus it's square - photos from that era were inevitably 4x3 format, whereas most modern AI produces square images.
it's a fun image, but I think it's AI, so am going to tag the thread synthetic. If anyone has any more information that woulld indicate it's actually a cropped real image from the 80s, happy to untag again, but for now the balance of probability does lean towards it being a modern AI image.
AI WAM posted in the AI WAM group (helpfully titled "AI WAM") is great.
AI WAM posted in the "regular" Messy forum, which used to be the province of real people doing real WAM, is.... fine. And inevitable. As long as it's properly labeled "synthetic."
AI WAM posted in the Messy forum and NOT labeled, clearly with the specific intent to fool people, is.... quite bad, and a slippery slope, and exactly the reason why many are so anti-AI WAM.

This exactly. Can mods fix this post?
We have, I labelled it "synthetic" yesterday morning, you should be seeing the synthetic tag for it in the forum index and at the top in the thread itself. If you're not seeing it, try a Ctrl-F5 reload, and if it still doesn't appear flag it to MM as a bug, you should definitely be seeing it.

skirtpie said: Don't understand why you wouldn't let that go. Why? People convinced that fake wam is real? Seems harmless.
People don't like to be fooled. And the rules of this site clearly state that while AI generated images are welcome, they must be labelled synthetic so people who wish to filter them out of their feeds can do so. Trying to circumvent or sneak past that isn't harmless, it's deceptive. One one level, it's a breach of consent as you're pushing artifically generated content on those who have not consented to accept it.
You're welcome to post AI images. But please label all and any such threads as synthetic by ticking the appropriate box on the Create Thread page when you post them. And if you ever post an AI image in a reply to a non-AI thread, clearly state that it is AI generated.
Different people have very different reactions to AI wam, some love it, some hate it, some are neutral. Respecting everyone's differing tastes and intersts is how we all get on. So please, follow the rules and label things correctly.
