I love how Barbara (after the (great) pie hit) just sits there for a bit...then only attempts to wipe her eyes a little, leaving most of the pie on her face (as she usually does, more than most models)...she only stops the guy from pieing her hair...but seems to linger in her spot way longer than most of the other diva-ish models....like she was soaking in the humiliation effect...not sure why she does this (note that on many of the other female hits, the camera cuts away and we don't get to see much aftermath)...I find it hard to believe that this is solely a directorial decision (like Barb would ever tolerate that)...but we always get more aftermath from her hits since she lingers longer on camera and is slower to wipe the pie off and walk back (most days) to the model line...maybe, just maybe, she's more clued in to the audience's desire to see her messed up than we suppose....

wow what a waste for Paloma and that amazing white dress to stay clean. I wish they would be a little more consistent showing a full body shot before each pie. If you are going to have them sit there, show leg! All in all, I didn't think it was a bad episode.

I think she stalls for fear of making an embarrassing situation worse.

If she overreacts and/or attempts to clean herself immediately it's an acknowledgment that she's been bested.

By pretending to be patient she hopes to mitigate the humiliation.

No reason to psychoanalyze Barb... None of us know what's really going on there.

But WJ, her tendency to sit there, post-pie, and not wipe... Well, that's been in place since her earliest time on the show. Almost a year now. It's the reason I thought she was the MVP of the females... and, indeed, WHEN she gets pied and WHEN the hit is good and WHEN she's not being a diva, her hits are fantastic. However, since her time on the show:

--She had a run of almost 3 months where she took ONE pie total. That was back when the show was super rigged, and some weeks it was blatantly obvious that they were making sure Barb got every question right so she wouldn't pitch a fit.
--This isn't an issue now, but depending on mood, she would often force the guy to choose the balloon... and then basically dodge the entire contents to stay 95% clean.
--And on at least one occasion, she was apparently angry enough about getting pied that she convinced the producers to basically "erase" the entire thing. (More precisely: Just when she got pied, the camera cut to a super wide angle where you could barely see anything. Then they immediately cut to the next contestant with Barb nowhere in sight. It appeared to be an epic pieing, but we'll never see it because Barb pulled strings.)

So yeah... The Barb that misses questions every week, and takes the pie like a champ, and even kinda pies herself?** Yeah, that Barb is awesome.
Unfortunately the other Barb showed up most of the time on CM, and she was a holy nightmare. Say what you will about the new CM being a shell of the old one, but Barb has been one of the few bright points. I suspect that'll change soon enough.

** Anytime the guy goes for the hair, she yanks the pie plate back down to prevent this... and usually covers herself more. It's the reason she tends to get well-pied still, even though lately the entire male team couldn't hit the side of a barn with a pie.
