After days of rain, a huge lagoon formed in the field--one of those that look like broken mirrors of the sky.

I put on my jeans, comfortable sweat-shirt, and rubber boots, ready just to "take a look."

I approached slowly. The water was surprisingly warm, almost inviting.

I took a step. Then another.

With each inch, my boots sank deeper, the water rose up my jeans, and I felt that typical spring chill.

When the water finally reached the point where I couldn't just stand anymore I went ahead anyway.

I plunged into that makeshift lagoon, laughing to myself, my sweat-shirt getting heavy and my jeans clinging to my legs.

It was just rainwater. But at that moment it seemed like a little secret of nature just for me.

And I stayed there, floating in the spring.
