Welcome back to the You Can't Do That On Set Chronicles! It's here that I'll be keeping track of info about our 'You Can't Do That On Set' video series episode by episode. This includes any of the series first-evers, fun facts, and behind the scenes happenings. YCDTOS has since become my favorite thing to do for our store.
Season 1, Episode 2
Release Date: 07/30/2021
Premise: "Complaining"
Cast: The Wife, Ellie, Lilly, Bree
Notes:
- This episode contains the first ever 'Lilly's Joke Corner' skit that would become a running gag in the series
- Debut of the table set
- Anytime a girl was slimed at the table, for any scene really, we would need to pull apart the leaves and clean out the slime that got in between
- The skit with The Wife and Bree getting slimed twice each while standing next to Lilly was originally created as, and was intended to be, its own stand-alone scene for sale. It was shot before this episode's premise was thought of, and ended up inspiring what it would be
- Lilly walking away with her stool at the end of the previously mentioned scene was an out of nowhere adlib by her
- The first episode where a chunky green slime happened without being activated by a trigger phrase, button, etc
- The first episode where a water was triggered without the girl having to say the trigger word
- This is the second episode in a row where Bree gets watered. The pour lasted 'only' 30 seconds this time
- If you look closely, you can see Bree taking a step toward Lilly right before she reads her line to get watered
- The skit where Lilly is pied while trying to guess the trigger phrase for pie was shot approximately 2 weeks after the rest of the entire episode. This is because in the final scene, Lilly complains that she can't seem to stop getting hit by pies. We felt that in order for her to complain about being hit by too many pies in the episode... that she should be seen getting hit with more pies during the episode itself
- The 'fade out' finale idea of Ellie's solo skit was imagined the day of shooting
